Saw this car a couple of days ago, looks like a great project so far with plently more to come, sound deadening looks tops :2thumbs:

also i reckon leave the lip unpainted, as we were discussing the other day about the stone chip. I went and looked at my front apron that i am about to paint and it was hammered with stone chips

i painted mine again with rattle can black as there were so many imperfections in it that i had to smooth out ect, hasnt been hacked too bad with stone chips i just touch up everynow and then with a little bit of rattle can i think if u wanted to go body colour just chuck an extra coat of clear so as it would take more of a beating.

mine screwed into the front apron fine even with the 55 lippy bit at the bottom! if i sat it a bit lower would have been better as u can see a tiny bit of the apron in the 2 hole things i just did a bit of rattle can action on that too.

it looks crooked but its actually the bumper that was. chassis rail bolts were crooked eventually fixed it, lol.

Still need to work on the brake lines.

Okay small update.

I've had to go out and find a new washer for my filler plug. I wanted a new one anyway. Problem was I couldnt find any at all the major part stores as the bolt is too big. I had to instead go to Bunnings and grab this...

I've decided to grab spring washers for the bolts that hold the backing plate one. I want to ho have extra strength as I've noticed these diffs always leak behind the gasket.

I've also bought gasket glue that has a resistance to oil.

And here is is now. Tonight or tomorrow I'll top up the oil then give one last coat of paint over the bolts to clean it up.

Just need to clean up the brake line and re attach it now.

for future reference, an easier alternative to using silicon type sealant for those gaskets, is to use non-hardening aviation sealant, quicker cleaner and easier to apply, and probably works better, just brush it on, cause its liquidy, and it never leaks. keep an eye out for it :)

good progress being made, good to see youve focused your efforts :)

wish i was making progress haha

Well I've now topped it up and sprayed the bolts. Fingers crossed it works out well.

I've also polished the brake line. Doesn't look too bad. I'll fit it tomorrow.

I hope by Saturday I'll have the sound deadening complete under that section so I can re assemble the back end. I really don't feel comfortable with her ass up in the air and only bricks chocking up the front wheels considering the slope of the driveway/dirt.
