GTS-T_Sedan Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 yeh, mines all rusted out thats why i asked, but do the later model ones bolt in? doesnt really matter for me atm anyway i got a lot of work to finish before i think about it to much  Quote
Taz_Rx Posted November 9, 2009 Report Posted November 9, 2009 Don't think you can but I may end up replacing the whole tank eventually with a tank for later model Toyota that has surge tank and electronic fuel pump built in. Good luck finding something that will fit though! If you don't want a boot full of fuel setup (surge tank etc) then just mount it all under the car. I just gave a '30/'55 tank away last weekend GTS-T. Quote
JiP Posted November 10, 2009 Author Report Posted November 10, 2009 The tank in question is a little wider than the current tank and its 60Ltrs. So yeah i loose out on a bit of boot space but I don't have the stupid surge tank sitting in the middle of my boot. Oh and I am wrecking a car with a tank if you can't get it locally. Quote

Bit far away but if all else fails i might just get a custom tank made up to sit where the factory tank is even if it sticks out a little more I'm not to fussed Quote
JiP Posted November 10, 2009 Author Report Posted November 10, 2009 Well massive f@$k around today to remove the fuel lines. I had to remove the steering box to get the main fuel line out. That had me worried the car might move as its only sitting on the front wheels. So I staked them in so they can't turn. Finally think I'm ready for the diff to come back... I'm thinking I might put the diff in but I'll have to drop it again at a later stage as I can't put the exhaust in now. Sucks that its in one piece!! Quote
JiP Posted November 21, 2009 Author Report Posted November 21, 2009 Not a great deal to go now. We did a bit of work today. Thanks Terry!! Slight bit of cancer that we just welded up(Before pic. No after :))... Sadly no befores of this one... Action Shot!! Cutting the rust out... Fingering the skank... Not as bad as the other side which is good... Plated... Another bad bit... And gone!! ;) Now remember last time... Now so far... More bogging to come  Diff to go in soon too once the parts I've ordered arrive from Japan. :hmm: Quote

JiP Posted December 1, 2009 Author Report Posted December 1, 2009 Not much of an update but I had some time this afternoon. So I tried to do a little bit of bogging to straighten the back of the car... Now I know its not that great but I'll most likely go over it to try to get it smoother later. I'm still learing here. Don't think it turned out too bad. Quote
Undertaker_is_the_best Posted December 1, 2009 Report Posted December 1, 2009 top effort there jip well done better than what i could do Quote
love ke70 Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 not bad, now you get the fun of bogging and sanding bogging and sanding bogging and sanding, and eventually you get to prime and sand bog and sand and prime and sand and hopefully theres no more bogging, so then its priming and sanding, and one day all those little imperfections will be gone if you really try :D Quote
Undertaker_is_the_best Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 hey jip just wandering has there been any progress or have you been busy lol Quote

Worth a day trip for ya tho most cars are pretty hollowed out and from what I hear most peeps go at night as they are pretty priced. Plus the cows don't bight lOl Na no progress ay, been working the last 10 days straight. There is striking at work atm so I might pick up weekend shifts. If thats the case then it'll be a total of 17 days straight when we break off for xmas. :n: I'll try to find time to do more work after xmas. Still waiting on Toyota for parts tho. :locked: Quote
