ScottKE1X Posted February 1, 2009 Author Report Posted February 1, 2009 UPDATE! I got all of 1 day to work on this over Xmas. I've now got the roof and LHS rear 1/4 ready for primer. Roof before: Roof after: Rear 1/4 before: Rear 1/4 after: I've also sourced a shitload of parts for it. At this stage I'm thinking of using: Keeping the 4k (found out its a dished piston) Factory Sprinter twin downdraft carbies (with factory air filter) Extractors Sprinter Tacho dash Full original vinyl interior I'm still chasing a few parts if anyone can help out: 1 pair of std height ke1x front coil springs seat rails for front seats (mine have been modified) I've also got some "custom" number plates for it which I shall reveal at a later date Cheers Scott. PMP020 Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 now this is a proper long term thing. managed to get some primer on there in a space of 18months. no doubt she'll be sweet when shes all finished. i believe someone once said, "Rome wasnt built in a day" it may have been AC/DC or maybe meatloaf :y: cheers, scott Quote
ScottKE1X Posted February 1, 2009 Author Report Posted February 1, 2009 you taking the piss?? haha. Yeah... if i thought about it, probably actually had it for 3 or even 4 years! Not going for a showroom ride, contemplating Matt blacking it. and going Green interior, I did a mock up, check it: Maybe a pale green though. Scott. Quote
PMP020 Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 nah scotty, wasnt takin the piss, sorry if it came across that i was. definate like the idea with the matte and the green. would be a show stopper and giv peeps alot to talk about. something fresh indeed. cheers, scott Quote
PHATKE20S Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 Is that a KE16/18 in the background??? Please tell me you're saving her next........ Quote
philbey Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 That 16 is a lost cause, don't worry I've already been over it looking for bits to pinch haha. I'll be dropping round regularly scotty to keep the motivation bug biting haha! Either that or I'll take possesion of your half built project in 2 years time heh heh. Quote
philbey Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 Nice name change by the way. Green interioris good, I'd put a bit of black on the seats too. Quote
ScottKE1X Posted February 1, 2009 Author Report Posted February 1, 2009 All good scotty just messin with ya  you were right though. I don't want a ke10 that people think looks the same as another they've seen. Thats why I did my ke11 the way I did too. Toms right, that ke16 was long gone before I got it, its help build many others though. - for example: Toms manual conversion. You can rest assured knowing if it was even close to possible to be resurrected, it would have been. I tell you what, you gotta be careful whats in the background of your pics on here!! Cheers, Scott. Quote
andro0o Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 i like the green idea, its definately something different. i tihnk this is gonna start a new trend in ke10s instead of the usual matt black or white with a red vynll interior. Quote
Murd 55 Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 this thing is coming along great, you really are an inspiration, i was starting to think my car is far beyond repair but my rust was no worse than this so i guess there is still hope for Claudia XD i think the matt black and green will be absolutely killer! look forward to seeing more progress!
