Teddy Posted August 11, 2004 Report Posted August 11, 2004 How hard is it to bend & Shorten the gear stick lever? thanks :D Quote
Teddy Posted August 11, 2004 Author Report Posted August 11, 2004 lol ok - Ive changed the design for my center console again anyway (just position) - so its all good - thanks ! Quote
Pringles_U12 Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 you could put a short shifter in, shorter throw and shorter actually 'Pole' Quote
demuire Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 Short shift kits don't always have a shorter "pole". They make the throw shorter by changing the axis point Quote
irokin Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 yep I'm about to build one for a K40....its an easy mod if you know how :D Quote
irokin Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 hahaha....maybe I should start making some. Old corollas need more aftermarket bits... I need a spare shifter first...don't wanna start chopping up the one I have to use to get home :D Quote
Lo'Rolla Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 gotta agree the old rolla'z need more aftermarket parts..... so if any1 out there has the brains n balls n cas 2 make them....i will buy!! in particular short shift kit.....maybe a bolt in roll cage?? or even engine mount kits for newer engine conversions (like they sell at datspeed) Quote
Redwarf Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 (edited) You mean a short shift like this? :) This is the Mark I version made for the Dwarf. The Mark II is much prettier. No one really makes bolt in roll cages anymore, although I think Bond in Sydney may still do. No-one makes alloy cages anymore, and you'd be hard pressed to buy a half cage these days. Personally, I get mine built and installed by professionals, but each to their own. I don't think enough people do these conversions to make mass production of engine mounts economically viable. P.S: Ben, you can borrow this one for a template if you would like. R Edited August 31, 2004 by Redwarf Quote
irokin Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 thats pretty much what I will be making...seen as theres enough interest. Just a few details to iron out at the moment, then I'll take some orders. Anyone know if all the shifter bolt patterns are the same though the K series gearboxes? I can make them for pretty much any gearbox... Quote
