LittleRedSpirit Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 Cool car des. Does it share engine mounts with the ecotec v6?... :jamie: Quote
Des Posted May 1, 2007 Author Report Posted May 1, 2007 (edited) I think they do but I'm not 100% on that. I need tires with a lower profile for the fronts, 205/65/R15 is to big for a Corona. Neally takes the 1/4 panel off when ya turn. 205/55/R15 for the front is still reasonable. Edited May 1, 2007 by AE70 Quote
Trev Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 (edited) Cool car des. Does it share engine mounts with the ecotec v6?... :jamie: No need, I have spare 3.8 v6's from Vn - Vp, From owning a vn and a vs i have found that the buick is alot more responsive than the ecotec, Ecotec is based in topend power, Buicks still lead the 1/4 mile times for the commodore v6's (holden stats, vs has more weight but more hp), I personally think the LEXONA has a 14 in it, Other's might say otherwise. beerhead Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 Des i have a set of 4 tyres for you. you can have them for free. i think they are 195/60/r15. Quote
Des Posted May 1, 2007 Author Report Posted May 1, 2007 Are they of legal tread depth or burnout tires coz i allready have 18 rims all with tires piled up behind the shed, But either way i will take them :jamie: Quote
7shades Posted May 1, 2007 Report Posted May 1, 2007 Shotgun... Well.... no one called it..... :jamie: Quote
NickZ Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 It should do a 14 easy being auto etc, rolladore does a 14.6 on small 13 street tires and a 4.11 diff and hitting the rev limiter over the quarter mile mark in 5th. I'm moving up to 15" wheels on the rear with 215x60 thats neally 2" in diameter bigger and ill be able to use first gear for take off, I'm hoping to be in the 13's. Quote
Des Posted May 3, 2007 Author Report Posted May 3, 2007 Well i bought a oil pressure gauge for it, Hooked it up and started the car 80psi at idle WTF is with that. So i chucked in a autometer mechanical gauge 60psi well thats a bit better, mechanical gauges can be defected so took it out and put the electric one back in then the sender snapped in bits so i don't have either now. Des Posted May 9, 2007 Author Report Posted May 9, 2007 Bought some decent speakers early last week and some pods today, Fitment tomorrow. Jaycar 6 inch Kevlar splits. Might buy another pair for the rear and then get a 4x50wrms jaycar amp. Quote
Des Posted May 14, 2007 Author Report Posted May 14, 2007 Finished putting the speakers in the front doors and I'm very very happy with them even though they are running from the head unit not a amp. Found a steering lock in the shed aswell  Quote
Des Posted May 28, 2007 Author Report Posted May 28, 2007 V8... or supercharged 6 atlest :D One day. Since my last update ive replaced the indercators and the inner driving lights with newer items. Also lined up the lights properly so I'm not Koala spotting now. Custom tail shaft. Melber rims. Quote
Des Posted May 28, 2007 Author Report Posted May 28, 2007 (edited) Just ordered a speed sensor so it wont be hunting at idle and the revs at 100kph will drop a bit aswell. Also getting a remap :D Edited May 28, 2007 by AE70 Quote
Des Posted May 29, 2007 Author Report Posted May 29, 2007 Speed senser has been put on hold as it might not be needed now. I have found a AC DELCO computer tuner and he is going to mask the fault code so the check engine light wont come on for the code any more. Also adjusting the stepper motor's set imcriment points under 5kph so it bumps the idle up a bit to compensate for the lose of the closed loop idle mode. Also spent alot of time tuning mine last night, From 7pm to 8am this morning and more to go tonight. I need a new lift pump as it can't flow enough for the engine now as the pressure pump is getting air pockets in the line and you can hear it when it hits a bit of air. He also mentioned that AC DELCO computers with the 808 version can run V12 jags, 6 cylinder jags, EFI Camira's, 4ke, 7ke well alot of other engines that are efi. AC DELCO computers have more variables than a microtech so can be adjusted to alot of other engines and still using some of the Holden maps. Sv5000 commodore ignition map with slight changes runs a 5.3 litre V12 jag very well. Des :sob: Quote
ancullen Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 That's quite an interesting bit of info. How common is the 808 version though? If it's available on Commodore V6's, then I would think a lot of people may start picking them up cheap instead of buying a Microtech. Quote
