I'm looking for any information about the old HKS Twincharger kit for the 4A-GZE, seen pictures, seen many 300+hp cars with the kit, but there is little information on where to find one of these kits, or how to fit it. Can anyone help???

I havent got any information but i'm just curious to find how well the kit works as it sounds like a great alternative to the usual single turbo or supercharging and would be a great way to stand out of the crowd. (a hard thing to do these days.)

The twincharge kit was just a turbo add-on for the GZE so all you have to do is buy the turbo and do the plumbing, I still have not found the site i have as yet.

What you do is set it up so when the motor reaches a certain RPM, it triggers the clutch to switch off on the supercharger and a butterfly to redirect the inlet charge away from the supercharger and into a turbo only circuit.

Something to that effect anyway.

In the latest REDLINE mag (pommy version of HPI) there is an s15 with a twincharge setup but the supercharger runs all the time with the turbo just boosting into it. Seems to work alright. Maybe an option to consider.

HKS no longer produce or plan to reproduce the 4agze twincharger kit. your best chance is to find a second hand system or build your own.

i've been doing a bit of research into twincharging. seriously keen to build a 20v twincharger myself.

wrote a big long reply but was a bit off topic so started a new thread.

Fensport have bought an hks twincharged front cut and installed it in their project ae92 and are now modifying it

they have a diagram of it too (below) some use information in their writeup.
