I took the cam cover backing plate to work and blasted it off so i can paint it, It will be done in black crinkle coat to match the cam covers and should look good with the hks gears and a clear cover.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that i have also found a RWD middle timing cover so i can eliminate the engine mount hole.

I did the cam backing plate in heat proof wrinkle coat today, Pics just don't show the quality of it, I also included a pic of it temporarily mounted with the hks gear.

To be honest with you i have had the sale lined up since november last year but all the shit that happend with work i couldn't afford it, Terry and I are going to try to get a few of these available in oz as they are N/S in the oz market and it will make it easier for when people go to do the conversion.

Hopefully it will go good too, All I'm basically chasing now is the RWD harmonic balancer and if i can't get one new then i will get a 2nd handie and get it repacked then the engine will be off to work to be checked over from top to bottom, Cams fitted (when i purchase them) and some slight head work.

Thats interesting, the LHD drive version is slightly different to the JDM RHD version. The pipe which goes to heater core doesn't come out that far on the JDM ones, otherwise its the same. Presumably its just got to do with the position of heater core in the US ones.

They are identicle apart from the heater core pipe lenght, It has about 5cm extra on it which does not matter as it still fits, I have a JDM 2nd hand one here off the boss's ae86 racecar at the moment that I'm going to take pics of just to compare the 2.

I've got 2 of the rear outlet pipes myself, interestingly though it looks like one was a LHD version but it has been cut down to the same length as my RHD one because it doesn't have the notch part to stop the hose from slipping off.
