Trev Posted March 30, 2007 Report Posted March 30, 2007 (edited) Hey guys, AS you know from my signature I am in the process of building a 4AGTE AE71 sedan, I have not got everything to complete it as yet so i am going to use my spare bigport GE and run it N/A until I can gat a bare Bigport GZE, I will be running the factory auto until I get the GZE then the auto will be off to get a stally and a shift kit (I don't care how gay that sounds to some), The main thing at the moment is I still need to convert the fuel system to EFI, I will be separating the GE FWD harness to run engine only and keep it separate from the factory harness, I'm just waiting for the engine crane and my stand so i can get stuck into it. Also my JDM RWD Bigport inlet manifold is still on a boat from the US so i have to wait for that. I have taken a few pics: The beast: Where the power will be housed  Decided to insert the clock and tacho into the original dash (160,000km's): The only bad spot: The original auto: The donor 4AGE: The spares Seca: Where it's happenin: Rear shot: The turbo parts: HKS 4age turbo manifold. GT25/74 Garrett Bush turbo. Turbosmart Dual Stage Boost Controller. Autometer sport-comp boost guage. Autometer matte black cup. Turbo Piping. (FMIC is not pictured) My shed (holds 4 - 6 cars): The carport (holds 5 cars) Will have more of an update once i get the crane and stand back. Edited August 26, 2007 by Trev
Trev Posted March 30, 2007 Author Report Posted March 30, 2007 Oh look you ae71 is jacked up like my ke70. Youve seen it in the flesh, U know i want it lower
LittleRedSpirit Posted March 30, 2007 Report Posted March 30, 2007 Yes he has pics up. Looking very promising, trev. I wish i had the facilities that you do as far as car storage goes. That shell looks nice. Very exciting.

LittleRedSpirit Posted March 30, 2007 Report Posted March 30, 2007 Bring it to my house then. Now that is tempting.
Clown Posted March 30, 2007 Report Posted March 30, 2007 hahaha theres photo's on here somewhere of my orig Ke70 "jacked" up that way aswell.
Trev Posted April 2, 2007 Author Report Posted April 2, 2007 (edited) Today I started labeling the FWD harness so i can start to cut it up, I also took note of where i want the harness's fuse box situated when it goes in the AE71: Edited April 2, 2007 by Trev
Trev Posted April 3, 2007 Author Report Posted April 3, 2007 I have decided to track down a JDM T50, Why JDM, Well the clutch fork is on the drivers side so the turbo dump wont interfere with it.
Trev Posted April 3, 2007 Author Report Posted April 3, 2007 (edited) Got the engine harness out: A few pics of the turbo mounted, Yes its mounted in the seca: I'm not really happy with the direction of the compressor housing so i might get a custom waste gate actuator made with a zig zag shaft and mount it on the back of the housing so i can have the compressor outlet facing down. Corolla_Kid Posted April 3, 2007 Report Posted April 3, 2007 (edited) Why are you putting a manual gearbox in it now? Edited April 3, 2007 by Corolla_Kid
Trev Posted April 3, 2007 Author Report Posted April 3, 2007 Why are you putting a manual gearbox in it now? Ha, Peer pressure. Mainly due to the fact that I'm going to need an 8 bolt flex plate in the long run, I will hold onto the auto and might give it a run one day when the car is fully complete, A project never goes to plan tho, You will always change your mind about something. A few pics of where the DSBC & Boost Guage will be located:
Trev Posted April 3, 2007 Author Report Posted April 3, 2007 Pulled the rest of the harness out just before: This is what i have to work with (probably do it tomorrow): Going to strip all the engine related stuff from the ecu plugs, I have the manual so i know what pinouts are what so its a big help:
LittleRedSpirit Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 Progress, awesome. Peer pressure, hahaha. If you can't find a jap t50 its only gonna cost about 65 bucks to get a hose made to fix the interference, cheaper than a 500 buck jap box... Looks great anyhow, trev. That manifold does a nice job of keeping the turbo near the block.

That manifold does a nice job of keeping the turbo near the block. It was nice meeting you and Brad (Beerhead) today :D I haven't done much too it lately but the engine harness is pretty much all done, I am upto the stage of doing the 14P plug on the ecu. I took to the harness with a multimeter today and decided to find where the engine harness ignition power comes from and what size fuse to use so i am going to take what info i have from the harness, Run a relay and splice the trigger into the ignition "ON" output and run an inline fuse holder with a 7.5A fuse. Here are a few pics:
