HIGH ROLLER Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 Hi there fellow rollaholics... Just a question if anyone knows wether or not u can put a sr20det in a ke20 and have it registered (engineered)... Also, in australia was there ever a four door ke20? how much did it weigh? Thank fellaz, Keep Rollin....
Des Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 I have a mate with a sr20de in a ke20 and had no problems, You might have a few hassles getting the front mount engineered though.
Jono Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 (edited) i'm fairly sure that in the rules book for NSW you can only go up to a 1.9 litre turbo for cars up to 800kg. Edited March 28, 2007 by JC807
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 definately not possible in QLD. Weight of vehicle times 2.5. A sr non turbo just scapes through in a ke25, so a turbo one is out of the question.
flat out Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 hmm you could get it enginered with an na sr20 then bolt a turbo on or what not when its rego'd
irokin Posted March 28, 2007 Report Posted March 28, 2007 hmm you could get it enginered with an na sr20 then bolt a turbo on or what not when its rego'd requires another mod plate.
shy_77c Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 no chance of getting engineers in nsw only up to 1.9l like said earlier, your best bet would be a ca18det
Jono Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 or 4agze with turbs if you want factory forged pistons
ke20man Posted March 30, 2007 Report Posted March 30, 2007 duno bout thegineering but yes they did make 4 doors not to many of them tho but ive got a old fast fours mag with 1 in it
YKE 20T Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 i agree with anastasios i have a ke20 coupe with a ca18det coupe. i live in the ACT and have spoken at length with an engineer and once i have bigger front brakes and the disc rear apart from all the fiddly emmissions stuff it will be easy to engineer.
counc Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 well guys i hate to rain on everyones parade here but you can get a sr20det engineered into a ke20 in NSW. In the early k series you can go up to a 2.2L engine, I'm currently doin a sr20det conversion into a ke11 and have spoken to numerous engineers that have stated it wont be a problem, ive also been in touch with the rta and as long as its all engineered everything is sweet.
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Yeh i have read a recent article where someone just put one in a ke20 in nsw. And he only just did it. must be still possible in nsw.
Jono Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 (edited) thats good news. i have actually seen the table in a rule book which works out maximum engine size for certain weight cars, at but it may be out of date. its strange that the rules have become more relaxed and not tightened up. i wonder if that means rotaries into ke20s in NSW again!?
