Gilly Posted March 19, 2007 Report Posted March 19, 2007 right i have recently put a JDM AE86 4AGE in my 70 i had the alternator charging fine as wired in my old 86. the regulator failed and the alternator was unregulated and charging the battery at 18v!!! i fitted an AE82 item and it wouldn't charge at all, and i had a charge light now whereas before i didn't. now i'm after EXACTLY what to do as in what wires to join to what. this is what i did B+ (on alternator housing) to the thick white terminal on the KE70 body loom (the one the KE70 alternator loom plugs into) Sense (white, top terminal on the 3 pin plug) is linked to the above B+ cable for a constant 12v Ignition (yellow, left pin) had this linked to the yellow and white plug of the KE70 body loom. light (red with blue) i left this disconnected now wired as above it charged and worked for just over a week, i have now learnt that the charge light actually completes a circuit and should always be connected. the fact it wasn't probably contributed to the alternators failure. basically i would love it if some one could tell me EXACTLY how to wire a AE82 alternator to the KE70 loom. many thanks Quote
