mattress Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 (edited) After months and months of searching various places for KE10 parts i came up with an original wheel. I think it may be a sprinter or SL or optional sports wheel. Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong. I think it was a very good find and personally not a bad price. I payed for the item and shipping from japan and it arrived here in under a week. The rim is in perfect condition as is the centre but the spokes need some paint.... Anyway tell me what you think. I know a few people around here expect to pay rock bottom for everything, so considering i think its rare-ish what do you think its worth? Thanks.....matt. Edited February 23, 2007 by mattress Quote
JiP Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 WwwwOw. That is soo cool. I so want one. How much did you pay?? Quote
deri2k3 Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 looks great, sporty and retro as well :) and the logo is just beautiful!! nice find man.. Quote
mattress Posted February 24, 2007 Author Report Posted February 24, 2007 Thanks guys. I like the sporty, retro look of the wheel. The rim is a fake woodgrain type look but you have to be pretty close to tell. I did find one here in aus but the guy wouldnt be firm on a price. I think he was asking in the vacinity of 350-400. I figured that was the going price for this type of item here in australia and i beat it well and truly. I'll post up soon what i payed for it. Has anyone seen a wheel like this for sale in australia and what did it go for? Quote
Raven Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 I've got the original KE25 deluxe wheel, but its a little damaged... Quote
JiP Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 Did the KE3X's come with anything like this?? Quote
Raven Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 Nope. Not that I'm aware of unless its a TE37 or something :) Quote
Felix Posted February 24, 2007 Report Posted February 24, 2007 This steering wheel came standard on the ke15/17 sprinter SL models. Quote
mattress Posted February 24, 2007 Author Report Posted February 24, 2007 Felix, you don't happen to know a guy named andrew who lives at postmans ridge do you? I met him a bit before christmas at a servo in tmba. At the time he was driving his KE11 and i had a bit of a chit chat to him and got his number and said i would check out some parts he had but never did. Turns out he has a KE11, a KE15 and a KE18. 78_7kRolla Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 that is a really cool wheel you got there, does it fit a ke30? Quote
Felix Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 mattress, no never met him. Why would you want to put one of these wheels on a later car? If you really want the older style, just go buy yourself an earlier ke1x which has way more class than the later plastic models. :) Otherwise, Nardi have some nice retro styled wheels. Personally I think something a little smaller and thicker rimmed is far more practical and comfortable for a regularly driven car. Quote

As much as that may be, sadly they made the wheels big so that you could see all the dials. I've just removed my sports wheel and replaced it with the original. I'd stick it on my 30. Thats if i couldn't find any other wheel from my cars era. Would have the TE37 Levin had a better wheel?? Jon. Quote
Corolla_Kid Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 So how much did you pay for it? You've got me intrigued. Quote
mattress Posted February 25, 2007 Author Report Posted February 25, 2007 Haha, well i halved the what the guy in australia wanted for his. I payed $210 all up to my door. Some may say thats really expensive. I on the other hand think it was fairly reasonable. The wheel its self was $100 and $110 postage.... Quote
Corolla_Kid Posted February 25, 2007 Report Posted February 25, 2007 yeah thats not too bad. You'd be up for around that for a half decent aftermarket one. Quote
