hi all first post so ill introduce myself

I'm mick

I'm 24

have always driven/worked on commodores (am about to change that)

from eastern metro Vic

my question to every one is what is the best engine conversion for the old 70's carolla's, conversions is no big deal for me have put all sorts of late model LS1's, INJ 5.0L in early commodores, but i want to build a nice 4cyl turbo daily, and i love the look of the 70's corolla's but have no idea where to start, looked at this:

http://www.autotrader.com.au/iteminfo/adnu...subs_Used+Cars_

did all the usual checks, its rough but should be ok, however what are the things to pay particular attention to with these old girls?

my first thought was to chuck a CA18TDET in there, maybe a pintara box and diff whats you guys thoughts?

has any1 done this conversion and had any trouble engineering (brakes, body strethining, suspension, mounts etc)?

hope theres some helpful guys out there, (what better place to ask really?) any help appreciated

and ill thow in a pic of my current toy at heathcote, and daily

ke70/ae71 and buy a s13 silvia halcut and use the suspension/brakes, engine/gearbox etc. from it.

this forum, toymods forum and ae86dc forum have a lot of info on conversion in ke70/ae71's.

KE70 is a certain shape of Corolla that was around 1979-1984 (Somewhere along those lines.)

The one your looking at is a KE30 which spanned from 1974-1978.

Parts for that model can also be sourced from the KE55 which is the same shape too, but came with a slightly larger engine and cosmetic differances. 1978-1981.

If you click on the picture on the right in my signature it will take you to a thread where I have many of these models listed from members of this site. Just so you can get the feel of what is what.
