chester_fb Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 hey everyone, just wondering how many volts my alternator should be putting out on my standard 4K thanks heaps chester Quote
Jono Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 shouldn't be more than 14.8 volts at the battery when running or else your regulator isn't working. Quote
chester_fb Posted February 4, 2007 Author Report Posted February 4, 2007 yeah cheers, mines only running 13.6 :P Quote
Jono Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 thats normal too. not too many electrics on a 4k. Quote
chester_fb Posted February 4, 2007 Author Report Posted February 4, 2007 I'm currently relocating the battery to the boot, i was told that I'm gonna need a bigger alternator is this correct? Quote
philba Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 just wondering how many volts my alternator should be putting out on my standard 4K I did tell you that it should be pumping out about 14.4V or there abouts. Dunno about the bigger alternator Quote
chester_fb Posted February 4, 2007 Author Report Posted February 4, 2007 yeah i know you have been telling me that i have just been hearing mixed opinons Quote
Rolla__Boy Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 As I told you the other night, turn everything on, then get the reading, and if it drops anything below 13.5, then your alt isn't doing it's job. With everything on or not, it must read between 13.5 and 14.5 to be considered "ok" anything outside that is not ok. Quote
love ke70 Posted February 4, 2007 Report Posted February 4, 2007 she'll be fine. just run plenty big enough cables. 2awg should do :P Quote
