gemless Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 i have done searchs but found little information. mt plane is to buy a 20v and put the low compression pistons out of a 4agze in and strap on the standard 4agze supercharger.at the moment i have a ae82 4age and a 100kw lift back. id like to know if anyone else has built a supercharged 20v? will the 4agze pistons fit into a 20v? will i be able to use the 4agze gear box on the 20v?or would the 6speed box be better? what was changed on the second version of the 4agze to give it 20hp more?higher compression? thanks brett Quote
Des Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 Later model 4agze run: -Higher compression 8.9:1 not 8.0:1 -runs 10psi not 8 -smallport not bigport Quote
pozman Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 you'd be better running a sc14 off the 1ggze. Quote
Trev Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 You would have to change your induction to the GZE intake as running ITB's would be hard with the charger mounted where it goes, After the questions you have asked i think you are going to be better off buying a smallport GZE halfcut and doing a full swap over and change the S/C pulley and doing the ABV (air bypass valve) mod, That way you will have more power than the 20v did. NickZ Posted January 22, 2007 Report Posted January 22, 2007 Seen it done, but ran out of power after about 6000, as i just can't supply the volume of air the engine needs, in the end made the car slower, Just go with a 4agze to begin with Quote
gemless Posted January 23, 2007 Author Report Posted January 23, 2007 AE70-thanks for the info0 much appreciated POZMAN-why the sc14?more air?better mounting location?btw thanks for info Trev-could you please explain the air bypass valve mod.when you say power do you mean torque, kw or both?would using the sc14 give a better postition as i plan to run it with the ITB's.thanks for the info NickZ-would using ITB's, the big port 4agze head, higher psi and a sc14 give power above 6000 rpm?thanks for info thanks for the info it has helpd thanks brett Quote
Des Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 SC14 has a displacment of 1.4L and the sc12 has a displacment of 1.2L. SC14 pumps more air due its size. Quote
