Redwarf Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 On a 30 that true with the rears, however you really should run them in struts, otherise, if you say, run them with superlows and no bump stops, they'll only last, say, six months. :) Quote
Des Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 I had superlows and no bump stops in the front of my ae82 seca and a HJ kingswood would handle better then it, Bottomed out the struts to often and f**ked them, Went lows with bump stops and it made a 100% improvement and handled like a go kart so i was told. anastasios Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 so trent were u running them with bumpstops? otherwise i would be starting from there Quote
Trent-KE30 Posted January 24, 2007 Author Report Posted January 24, 2007 Yeah It's just a standard KE30 with superlow springs (50mm) and new monroe GT gas shockies.. I didn't touch anything else.. Quote
anastasios Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 so did the suspension shop replace the bump stops onto your shocks? Quote
Trent-KE30 Posted January 25, 2007 Author Report Posted January 25, 2007 Not sure, I took all the struts out and just took them in to get fitted, the bump stops might be worn out, i'm pulling the struts out soon so i'll let you know man, Cheers for you help guys :D Trent Quote
Trent-KE30 Posted January 26, 2007 Author Report Posted January 26, 2007 Really?, I was going to try some pedders shocks anyway, cause my mate gets them for trade price at his work.. I'am pulling the car off the road soon and replacing every single seal, rubber etc in the car hehe :D Thanks RD for your help, Trent Quote
toybox Posted January 28, 2007 Report Posted January 28, 2007 if you want after market shocks try s13 silvia Quote

doityourself Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 To adress this problem you are going to need to find shockers out of another car, and not necessarily toyota either. Head down to your local car parts store, and ask if you can get them to help you find a shock that has lower compressed, extended and natural state. For instance I was going to do a TA22 strut but am now going for an RA40 strut and brake upgrade soon, I want to lower the car 2.5 to 3 inches (and this is on a KE30). So we looked trough the back of the monroe book in the reference section. Instead of using RA40 shocks, I am going to put in 83 - 86 Camry shocks. The spec all come out the same as what has to stay the same but the compressed, extended heights are 60mm lower. If what I said hasn't made sense them pm, and let me know. Quote
