De Soto De Shmoto.... it ain't no daisy.

Why the hell is that 'rolla selling for so much? Has there been some sort of bizarre and unexplainable popularity surge in banged up old corollas in the USA?

You'd be struggling to pull 1k AUD for that here.... completly original or not

oh wow wow wow, $4k usd for that lovely desoto, shoot we would be paying anything from minimum $30,000 aud for that in that condition over here in australia.

thats if you could find one here in that condition an imported need lots of work to bring it too that condition would be at a starting price of around $12,000 to $15,000 aud.

like i said before else where on here....living in the wrong country for classic mopars...

oh bugger just settle for the toyota and keep dreaming.

cheers

they only imported the 10 series wagon from 4/69-4/70; daisy is a 11/69.

all 10 series are rare over here; but the wagons are really rare.

those desotos would go for around $10,000us for the 2dr and $8,000us for the 4dr because they're firesweeps. The foreswep was a dodge with a desoto bumper and tailights and aren't considered "real" desotos by purists. A '57 fireflite in fair to rough shape would sell for 10g's over here.

4 grand could get me a decent restorable firesweep and I love it long time

try more like 3k...

no more 'rollas out here; people are afraid of imports in this part of the country. A true KE15 or KE17 will have to wait untill we move to the west coast

or maybe a b210 coupe.....

Yeah the toyotas hold together better.... but datto motors just keeeep on running. I have done extensive testing on this matter. :jamie:

When my 120 finally died (strut tower spot welds separated from the bodyshell, amongst other problems attributed to extreme metal fatigue) I pulled the engine down and discovered cracked pistons with bits missing and dents in the valves, but it was STILL RUNNING when I drove it into the shed. The larger datto motors can be problematic, (L20's) with the exeption of the 180b sss with the L18... sweeeeet engine.

I miss my datto ;)
