Hi guys,

I'm sorry to bring this neverending question up again, Ihave searched the forum and i did find a lot info, but it was so much i really got confused about it since english really arent my best languish

The things i really need help with is how i identify what kind of rear axle there is in my Ke70

and what sort of diff i could use in it

As i think have understand is that i can identify what kind of rear axle i have in my car

by looking at the vin number? is that right?

Since older toyotas and sweden isnt the great match is it really hard more like totally f****d up to find any parts

here but i have managed to source down a ae86 standard lsd, what should i look for to see if it can fit in

my axle.

I hope for your understanding about bringing this discussion up again

Keep on rockin guys with you so cool toyotas!!

hey man.

sorry i don't mean to be rude or anything and forgive me if i misinterperate what you said, found it hard to understand some of what you said. you said you were looking for a diff to put your axles in? i believe from what i read is that you are trying to find a decent diff to put in your corolla, is that correct? I'm not sure how youd exactly go about finding out what axles your car has unless you pull them out. but if you are looking for a diff conversion youll need to see how your current rolla mounts up and take a look at the diff your wanting to buy and put in. since your in sweden you may be better off getting a strong diff over there cut up and made to fit a rolla, as in the end when something breaks in it, you can replace easily rather than hunt for old toyota parts. i hope that helped.

Thanks for the reply,

yes what i want is put a lsd diff in my corolla ke70, yes an option is to take volvo 240 rear axle and make it fit, but i really want to keep so much as possible still toyota in the car, since everyone over here says that toyota is a grandma piece of car i want to show som toyota potential hehe

I think he's trying to find out which rear end his KE70 has so he can fit the AE86 diff center into it?

We never got Ke70's just TE71 and 72 that all had the "s" housing

I THINK you can identify the toyota housing as having a drop out carrier and a non removable rear cover and the Borg-warner as having a fixed carrier and a removable diff cover plate........I THINK

A stock AE86 lsd would have come from a T series diff, Either find an AE86 T series diff or a T-18 T series diff.

The short answer is no... but we will need pictures to confirm that as you never really know for sure with toyota :) The 4th generation corolla was sold in so many countries with so many different configurations... a visual inspection is the usually the best way to confirm exactly what you're running.

Also post up your vin/chassis number and someone here may be kind enough to consult the many databases on the web and tell you the exact specifications of your car.

Pictures pictures pictures!

Oh by the way.... one of my corollas has a special bond with sweden... I bought it off a swedish backpacker named ewa :D I still keep in touch with her and send her photos of all the nasty things I'm doing to her beloved little "eddie". (he looks a bit different now :y:)

Ok thanks, would that fit straight into my ke70 rear axle?

A T series diff can be put into a KE70. But as 7shades said we need pictures ?
