mikeys toy[RL] Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 How about hydraulic lifters for the 4k? Quote
Taz_Rx Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 sorry, my bad. lucky I didn't use the well travelled lifters!! :) Quote
Xany Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 Solid lifter conversion is in the FAQ http://www.rollaclub.com/faq/index.php?tit...Series/5K_Solid Still need someone to do a write up about using lifters from other motors etc. I've now done a small write up on how we managed to convert to solids.....i can't remember any measurements though (i forgot to write them down). If someone has any spare 5K lifters lying around, just measure them and add them to the bottom of the paragraph. Quote
large Posted January 7, 2007 Author Report Posted January 7, 2007 Do 4k exhaust and inlet manifolds fit 5k heads? Quote
madrolla68 Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 Do 4k exhaust and inlet manifolds fit 5k heads? Yes they do. How about hydraulic lifters for the 4k? I have never seen such a beast in my travels, anyway why would you want to do that. :y: What lifters do you have madrolla? And where'd you get them, I'd like to know for when I get round to getting my 5K sorted. Muchly appreciated. If you could go into a bit more detail of fitment as well that'd be great, unless its one of those magical 'bolt on' upgrades everyone always has! Cheers Mate all you need to do is go to any speed shop ,ask for some holden solid lifters (they ARE all the same in holden red motors), then you WILL need to get some datsun A12 pushrods as XANY has mentioned in his FAQ and find some 3 or 4K adjustable rocker gear and get too it. It is simple. What cam are you using. Any more questions let me know. sorry, my bad. lucky I didn't use the well travelled lifters!! :) Yeah man i still got them as spares and i have another set of A12 pushrods as they are becoming rare as to get because of the junior speedway guys using them :D Quote
Xany Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 if anyone wants A12 pushrods i have about 5 - 6 sets of them out the back.....let me know.....make sure you know the length of pushrod you need first though Quote
large Posted January 14, 2007 Author Report Posted January 14, 2007 If I run 5k rocker gear on the 4k head, and 5k pushrods, will that work? Quote
madrolla68 Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 If I run 5k rocker gear on the 4k head, and 5k pushrods, will that work? So you want too keep it as hydraulic tappets, not sure anyone has bothered to do that but you will just have too try. Quote
HarlemSessions Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 (edited) if anyone wants A12 pushrods i have about 5 - 6 sets of them out the back.....let me know.....make sure you know the length of pushrod you need first though Soooo... If i am running a 5k Block and head, with toyota 3F (Toyota KM36RV-JR,Part No. 13751-61020) solid lifters, will the A12 pushrods be the go....depending on the post height of my 4k rocker gear? If i put up a pic of my 4k rocker assembly, can someone tell me whether it's the tall or short version?, or can someone give me some measurements or a way to tell them apart, as I'm having difficulty finding 4k rocker assembly post height measurements on the net. "I have some solid lifters that will suit your 5K block but you will need to change to a flat tappet cam from a hydraulic cam", This was said earlier in the thread, to change to a flat tappet from a hydraulic cam...how do i do this?, is it simply a process of when i take in my 5k cam for a regrind (Tighe 104), i tell him that i want it ground for a solid lifter instead of a hydraulic? Help  :hmm: Edited May 5, 2009 by HarlemSessions Quote
