Old Ass Jap Model Cars

I thought I'd post some of the old japanese models i've collected over the years;

about a '75 celica, REALLY detaled with photo-etched wipers and full suspension. a '75ish Buick Shyhawk because you never see models of these., pretty crappy detail....., a '71 datsun sunny 1200, haven't finished it, but I started painting it up like the one I had......, a 1/28th scale '71 ke/te25 this one has been promised to Rob (Redwarf), a '71 Ford Capri because 3 out of the 4 capris I've owned have been red

I PAID $100usd + shipping for this about 6 years ago

the detail is incredible; the engine sucks, but it houses an electric motor that runs a star gear that runs through the transmission which connects to a piece of rubber hose connecting it to a driveshaft that runs into the rear axle.......you have to see it to believe it

WoWzers, they are looking good. Wish i still had all my models that i spend hours upon hours on. My little cousin played smash up with them all. I wasn't a happy chappy. :D

I was getting right into models for quite a while there until my little sisters dog chewed up the '57 chev drag car I'd spent a couple of days on.. the detail I'd put into it was amazing, I never thought I'd actually get off my arse and get it that detailed... all for a little f@$king beagle to eat it :y:

 

I might go and grab a model for something to do tomorrow, y'know. I'll see if theres and old school 'yotas but usually all they've got is JZA80 Supras and Celicas.. might have to settle for a kombi van :) but I'd really like a Capri :D

 

Those models look overrated as mate, looks like you've got a decent collection there!

I went to the hobby shop around the corner from me the other day. Found my best friends model MA70 supra (was a JZA70 though) and there was a TE27 Levin sitting there too. :hmm:

 

I should throw up pics of the ones I have at some point that havent been finished yet.
