emu Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 I have a KE55 manual sedan and a KE30 auto sedan, both are stock standard How difficult is it to lift out both motors and trans and swap, so that I finish up with a KE55 with the KE 30 motor and auto,...................and the KE30 finishes up with the KE 55 motor and manual gearbox.? If it's not difficult, can the interior console areas still look standard, or do they have to be butchered? I'd really appreciate this advice Thanks , Emu Quote
Trent-KE30 Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 Considering both corolla's have K motors everything should be direct swap.. Just put the pedal box etc into the KE30 and the centre console out of the KE55 in there as well and it should be sweet.. If you have basic mechanical knowledge and a few tools this is quite an easy job! Let us know how you go.. Cheers Trent Quote
Robert Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 The only difference between the two cars is the trans tunnel, youll have to cut a new shifter hole in both cars. You also may need to swap radiators depending whether the manual car has a trans cooler, alternatively you could use an air cooled transcooler. Cheers, Rob Quote
