SKA80R Posted January 3, 2007 Author Report Posted January 3, 2007 (edited) You posted Here sorry about that.. i thought i was in the write section Can you tell me who is a TE72 expert? My car is a JDM ke70 and i need to know if the TE72 was JDM (imported to AUS). None of the KE70/AE71 gearbox crossmembers fit under JDM KE70 I thought if the TE72 was JDM...there was a good chance the x-member might fit Edited January 3, 2007 by SKA80R Quote
Beserker99 Posted January 3, 2007 Report Posted January 3, 2007 Couldnt you just check the firewall plate on your car if you're uncertain of the gearbox you have? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the T-18's (TE72) came out here with the3T-C motor and T-50 gearbox. So I thik you would need either an AE86, AE71 or T-18 bg x-member. But that's what I think. Unless yours in an import with a different gb. Quote
Valandor Posted January 3, 2007 Report Posted January 3, 2007 te72 uses a t50 gearbox however the clutch slave is on the drivers side unlike the common t50 with the clutch slave on the passenger side. ke70 came with a k50 gear box. you will need a t50 cross member for the new gearbox and also need to update the ke70 to hydraulic clutch. yes te72 came with 3t-c engine. don't know if it was an import but pretty sure it wasnt since it was released in aus as the t-18 Quote

Thanks for the info.Do the compliance plates have japanese writing on them? or are they made by AMI My car is a KE70 Panelvan made in Japan (Japanese compliance plate) I am using a T-50 from a AE86. I have tried using the following x-members AE71 and AE86 so i thought the TE72 might fit Here is a pic of some cross members Jap Ke70 Aus Ke70 Aus AE71 Quote
Valandor Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 I'm pretty sure the compliance plates have to be in english since it would need to comply with aussie standards regardless of if it was an import of domestic Quote
