greenmac80 Posted June 4, 2010 Report Posted June 4, 2010 yes they need to be locked so they can't be lowered more than lowest legal and you MUST retain 2/3's of your original suspension travel. Â now back on topic. Your car is awesome!!! Quote
Taz_Rx Posted June 5, 2010 Author Report Posted June 5, 2010 reading this has really got me considering doing a boosted, K may i ask why a 5k, instead of the bigger 7k coz i was thinkin using a 7k but to save hastles in the long run would a 5k be better etc? and is that a k series specific gilmer set or like a mazdabater set modified?  Using a 5k as a compromise between torque and top end. Yes I could probably get a bit more bottom end with the 7k, but I'd also loose the "rev happy'ness" of the 5k. Rev limiters currently set to 7500rpm.  Yes the Gilmours are K specific. They were made as part of a group buy nearly a couple of years ago through Endevour engineering in NZ. After the group buy they actually put them into normal production though and they can be had off trademe. Little bit more than what we paid...... http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-294405701.htm   Pulled my Kouki T series diff apart yesterday to clean it up ready to have the coil mounts ground off. I was very suprised at something I found when doing it........ Did anybody know that a Kouki T diff has smaller axles than a stock KE55 diff!!!??? I sat them side by side and the K one did look slightly bigger. So I tried to put the K axle in the Kouki centre..... and it wouldn't fit. Then tried to put the kouki axle in a K centre....... and it did fit..... and then turned inside the spline! :) Might try and take a pic of each side by side. Quote

Taz_Rx Posted June 6, 2010 Author Report Posted June 6, 2010 Yeah Teddy'd "Blue Car" project has over 1/4 of a million views. Probably one of the biggest in this section...... Hell I've got 20,000 more views than OKE020!! But really....who cares. :laff: Â Phil - Yeah Endevours add had that pic of my engine bay for over a year or so. They used to have a youtube link to my vid in the add aswell. Now just says "can be seen on youtube". I'm keeping that fact up my sleeve should I ever need a favour or discount from them. If not a comment on said youtube vid could somewhat prevent future sales. :lolcry: Â Drive Tar to work this morning. 5*C inlet temps..... gotta love tassie winters with boosted cars. :) Quote

Taz_Rx Posted July 5, 2010 Author Report Posted July 5, 2010 Went out for a sunday arvo "play" with a 200+rwkw S4 rx7 yesterday. :hmm: Â Was quite fun. He wouldn't get much traction in 2nd so I'd shoot off out of tight corners and then he'd hunt me down in 3rd/4th. break, and repeat. :blinks: Â I think my intercooler is efficient enough. 18psi the whole way through 2nd, 3rd and 4th and I didn't get any higher inlet temps than 35*C!!!! Ambient was about 10*C. Quote
SLO-030 Posted July 5, 2010 Report Posted July 5, 2010 YeeHaa!! Â Good to hear all is going well Si! Quote
