Taz_Rx Posted November 9, 2007 Author Report Posted November 9, 2007 (edited) Something like this..... Main difference is the flow out of the flange, gas sorta colide and have to make a 90o turn to get out of the flange. Were as with mine the all flow into the flange. Taz_Rx Posted November 15, 2007 Author Report Posted November 15, 2007 Last nights aquisition!!!! Very happy, 3D V4, brand new in the box, never used, complete loom and sensors for the modest price of $300!!! :lolcry: I only got it at that price as I have been helping out the guy with that little turbo'd 1000 ute heaps in the last couple of weeks. I've been learning heaps doing it, so I'm happy, but he wanted to repay me with a cheap ECU, so I'm even more happy!! :hmm: Quote

Is this the guy that WE helped with his VNT turbo  Quote
Taz_Rx Posted November 15, 2007 Author Report Posted November 15, 2007 Yeah its the VNT turbo ute. Getting boost was just the first part, and him and me are very grateful for your help on that. When I worte in that thread "car is now running steady 5psi thanks to info provided by madrolla68" I thought it was all good. Since found out, the mechanic was getting boost then backing off, and it was still far from sorted. What we have been doing lately, is holding in the boost and getting the fuel side of things sorted. When I took those pics, it was still running a stock fuel pump, so boost didn't last longer than 5 seconds. I actually gave him my old carter black, that I had in before the lift pump/surge/vl pump, so that sorted fuel pressure. Vacuum/boost leaks have been the flavour of the week now. On monday you could block the inlet of the turbo and thing kept running it had so many leaks!!!! Now it stalls in 3 seconds. Boost is now in the range of 12-15psi!! :hmm: Hopefully tonight it will be running 100% once we replace the set of points that now has a hole burnt in them!! :lolcry: Might have to take a vid of 2 of it if we get it all sorted. Haven't mentioned anything yet, but if I was to get some tunes off you I wanna send you some money for a carton of your favourite bevvies or something!! Hey actually, what if I just buy and send you one of those oil cooler adapters to show my appreciation!!?? Quote

Taz_Rx Posted November 16, 2007 Author Report Posted November 16, 2007 Yeah was just talking with Jamie, Q's bro this arvo and he was telling me about the 3te ones, said they're similar to a 4ke one in the way they wrap right back up over the tappet cover. Said they were only out of utes or something though, so I'm not surprised they're rare!h Quote
