Taz_Rx Posted December 31, 2018 Author Report Posted December 31, 2018 Oh and just realised I never posted any pics of the damage... Quote
Banjo Posted December 31, 2018 Report Posted December 31, 2018 OMG !  You did cook them !  Them head studs loook like they might be ARPs ? ? ? Hope it's soon back on the road. Cheers Banjo  Quote
Taz_Rx Posted December 31, 2018 Author Report Posted December 31, 2018 They are indeed. Been using them for probably over 10 years. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted January 5, 2019 Author Report Posted January 5, 2019 Looks a bit more like a motor again! Tried to bolt the manifold on this afternoon and managed to pull a stud out of the head 🤬 will have to wait until Monday now to get a helicoil for it. Once I've done that, it's manifolds on, flywheel, clutch and gearbox and back in the car! Oh and have to change the pilot bearing as it's a bit tight and crunchy. 1 1 Quote
kickn5k Posted January 5, 2019 Report Posted January 5, 2019 Looking good mate!! Bring it north for a test and tune at heathcote park. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted January 5, 2019 Author Report Posted January 5, 2019 Maybe I should since we only have 1/8 mile here now 🤔 Quote
Taz_Rx Posted January 7, 2019 Author Report Posted January 7, 2019 Back to 6 stud's again... Now to pick up were I left off 2 days ago! 1 Quote

pozza123 Posted January 8, 2019 Report Posted January 8, 2019 Looking good man! Bet you can't wait to have it back on the road, will have to catch up soon Quote
Taz_Rx Posted January 9, 2019 Author Report Posted January 9, 2019 For sure mate. I'll have some tuning to do, then run in and more tuning but hopefully going strong by Feb... Probably dreaming lol Tonight's progress: Removing spiggot bearings suck... So make a child do it! Lol Also a pic of new clutch plate. With any luck this one won't slip. Quote
Jono.C Posted January 10, 2019 Report Posted January 10, 2019 Got a bit more shed space than before from the look of it? Quote
Taz_Rx Posted January 10, 2019 Author Report Posted January 10, 2019 Car is still at my parents so that's unfortunately not my shed. Dad's Ural in the background. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted January 12, 2019 Author Report Posted January 12, 2019 All new rubbers etc and into their new home. Luckily enough the RX7 550s use the same plug as the 7mge 315s, so I don't even have to change the wiring! Winning! Which isn't much of a suprise really considering both injectors use the exactly the same injector repair kit. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted January 12, 2019 Author Report Posted January 12, 2019 And with injectors/rail in, and top half of manifold on it's ready to drop in the car. Whoa! Quote
Taz_Rx Posted January 12, 2019 Author Report Posted January 12, 2019 ... Until I realised I didn't actually put the throw out bearing and carrier in! Lol that could have been an epic failure, but luckily I realised now. Easy fix at this point. Quote
