Well, I started this project a little while ago after picking up a rust-free shell from Trendact. Bloody cheap too. It had NO interior except the dash and steering wheel and door trims. My first plan was to throw a 4age at it. But finances stood in the way of that. Then I was going to freshwn up the 4k (needed a rebuild anyway). But then I found a nice 5k to wack in it. I've been told that it's had a stage 2 cam thrown in, and some head work done. I've already change the box to a k50. I'm going to make a complete custom boot install. And of course a respray. I've also got a spoiler to go thats currently sitting on my other ke70 (daily driver shit-box). Was hoping to have it done by christmas but :P :) :D as luck would have it, I don't earn enough or have enough free time. I have most of the interior now, just need a couple of more bits and pieces

nah, I'm not going to touch the twin headlights as I don't like them all that much. If I was going to change the front-end, I'd go with the KE70 late, like the other one I drive. I think it looks better. And I can't really take it slow as it's in a friends garage because we've got no room for it , and the other one is starting to fall apart (so to speak)

Not that much of an update. I had to pull the diff out to it put into my daily, as that one decided to shit itself all over the place. I've never seen an axle fall out when I take the wheel off before. But I guess there's a first time for everything. And now it looks like I may have to take front discs out to also put put into my daily as they are officially metal to metal. Fun noise that is. Thats it for now

I did think about doing that, but I'm yet to change engine over. So basically, I haven't got it got it going yet. Keeping my daily on the road keeps getting the way, but, I've gotta get to work somehow

Well, I have finally changed the engine over. The 5K is in. YAY. Now I've got to put the weber on it, and the extractors as well. Should be up and running in the next couple of weeks. Theres still a few other little fiddley shit I've got to figure out yet, but thats all part of the fun

Well, I've now got the weber on, anything is plugged up and ready to go. BUT it won't start. I've gone through all the usual things. But there's no fuel getting to it at all. I'm fairly sure the fuel pump works, even tried a different one. But I think there's a blockage somewhere. I'm thinking that it will be the pickup in the tank due to the tank being dry for so long that there could be a layer of gunk on it. So tomorrow after work, the tank will come off and I will see what I can do with it. If anyone can offer any other help what so ever, I will be very grateful (just don't say it's the dizzy, because its got spark, I know, I copped it)

Do you have fuel at the inlet of the pump? K's take a long time to get fuel from the tank if its been run dry. Try putting a capful of fuel down the throat of the carby and if it fires then you can rule out any other problems and just get fuel to it.

Hope that helps

Nah, the fuel isn't even getting to the filter. And when I put a bit of fuel down it's throat, it coughed, splatted, then the starter motor died. But i quickly got that replaced

So now this car is really starting to p*** me off big time. I've tried everything I can think of to get this thing going. There is fuel going into the carby, I've changed the dizzy, coil, leads, spark plugs, and even the carby. I put fuel start down its throat, and it do a god damn thing. And to make things worse, I have to move the car from where it is because my friend decided to buy a car and now wants her garage back. So, can anyone help me at all? Anyone willing to come over and get it going for me? There may even be a 6 pack in it for ya, or something

;) IT'S ALIVE. FINALLY, THE F***ER IS ALIVE :bash: Turns out the biggest culprit was the timing. Just had to turn the dizzy until it fired. And, yes, I did have quite a bit flame coming out of the carby. That was amusing. So now the car is at my place. Feels good to drive it finally, but it does need a few things changed to suit me.

I've now got the weber on and running quite good. It probably needs a little fiddling around with the mixture and/or idle screws. Tomorrow I'm going to try to put the electronic dizzy on and see how it goes then

Took it for a run on the weekend. Runs really well. Still need to iron out a couple of small things like mixture and it's ability to start on it's own (or more to point, not being able to), but now I have a bit of advice on that last one (thanks Thomo) so I should be OK. Still needs a tacho dash as I have no real idea what I'm revving it to, but going by the speed and noise, I'm going to guess about 8500. And its so much low end torque (for a K engine :n:). I can't wait until I get this onto the hillclimb. And I'll probably get before Trendact
