Custom 5k Turbo Project

hey guys,

 

i have been gathering up some ideas about how to get some more power into my ke55, i want to do a little bit of an upgarde from whats in it now, i want to get a 5k motor and tidy it up do a bit of work to it and make it look shiny n stuff, but i keep having stupid thoughts and i want to make a custom turbo manafold set up and just put a small turbo on it and run reall low boost to keep it safe ill gather up some ideas for a manafold setup and try get some plans as for how i want to do this,

A J-Pipe would be a lot easier to make than a custom manifold, it also mounts the turbo up higher which is easier for oil/coolant lines.

Like rob said, use a ke70 exhaust manifold (which is 4-1) and then run "j-pipe" from that to were you want to locate the turbo.

 

My new setup is nearly done now, I'll have some new piccies up soon.

 

You can also use an old set of extractors and cut and shut them to suit as Madrolla68 did, have a look in his "7k into a ke10" thread in the engine conversions forum.

for ultimate easy to can run a suck through set up, no intercooler. Sigma turbo carbies work well.
