67Rolla-Ken Posted September 2, 2013 Report Posted September 2, 2013 Hi all, I've nearly finished 67Rolla... sorting out a few small things but this one has really stumped me. I have 2 rear view mirrors but neither fit!! being a 67 she originally ran something with a smaller back than the later ke10's. Does anyone have pics/details on the 67 rear view number?? or have one to sell me??! Quote

1969 SPRINTER Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 Thought I'd show all my Car. Only gets driven up n down the driveway, ---for now. CAR: 1969 KE15 ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION: Original but the transmission isn't... dunno what it's from though.4 spd manual. SUSPENSION AND BRAKES: Has different shocks in the rear, (again, dunno what) but apart from that it's all stock. WHEELS AND TYRES: Stock? they are a little wider than the ones on the white one, as well as they have the dress hubcaps on them. INTERIOR: by the looks of things, stock. apart from a tacho from Kmart, and the floormat is a bit stuffed. BODY: needs some slight panelbeating on front guards, but all good otherwise. OTHER: dunno what the original colour was, if it was the bright red or the marone. Since the photos have been taken, I've taken off the spotlights, polished the chrome, and fitted a great big ariel almost as tall as the car itself!!! ;) Quote
1969 SPRINTER Posted March 12, 2014 Report Posted March 12, 2014 Oh yeah, another thing i forgot to mention, The exhaust! look at the third picture up! Has extractors, but need bending or something. also has a small hole just before the muffler so it sounds like a rally car! :gurgler: :P: Quote
Taz_Rx Posted March 13, 2014 Report Posted March 13, 2014 Good thing you didn't buy those wheels off me as they wouldn't have fit a ke1x Quote
dpb Posted June 2, 2014 Report Posted June 2, 2014 My latest project sussing out how hard it is to get a ke20 front end in it and then 4age... Quote
1969 SPRINTER Posted July 7, 2014 Report Posted July 7, 2014 Looks like an awesome project car! what has always puzzled me are the lights underneath the bumper. On my car they are parking lights not indicators. Are indicators for a different model or something? Quote
Jono.C Posted July 7, 2014 Report Posted July 7, 2014 Its a ke11 which have parkers and indicators in the one light like a ke20. Thats one of the different between early and late ke1x's. Quote
cluxford Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 (edited) Gday, just joined. Currently not an owner of a roll but miss em and may have to start looking for a new one. My first car was a KE55 coupe. Learned a lot on that car. Broke everything but the gearbox (did that in a later one). It was the late 80's / early 90's. It started as a yellow POS, painted it blue and it did good burnouts. Sold that moved on to a KE10. Loved this car, was red, but I painted in MICA red... This was a super super fun car. I was 19 and literally killed a set of rears almost weekly on this thing Then bought a KE11 out of Melb while I was living done here. Upgraded to a 1600, hotwire wheels, weber carbs, straight through 2" (no muffler) exhaust. It was loud...really loud. Need to dig out my old pics on that one, don't have any handy....super fun car, even better burnouts than the other two. Since these I have moved on to some non rolla forms of motivation. My current daily is a 1961 Buick Lesabre, air bagged, on 20's absolutely awesome awesome daily... My good times car is my 1968 Camaro. 632 Cubic Inch Big Block 800hp, full show car, cover of street machine magazine in 2011. Gets 90Km's (distance travelled) out of a 55 litre tank of 98 octane. But still miss my KE1x's. Could be time to add one to my collection. I love some of the builds on here, super impressed and definitely will be keeping my eye out for some interesting projects.
