corolla_nut Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 (edited) Name: Kylie Barling Car: ke10 Corolla Shell Motor & Driveline: None at the moment, blank canvas! Suspension & Brakes: Stock Wheels & Tyres: Stock Interior: None! Planning on putting the red interior back in it, minus the front seats, which I am going to replace with racing seats Body: Nice, straight body. No rust, pretty good respray in original white, needs a couple of bits fixing. Other: This is a rolling shell - all parts bar engine and gearbox came with it and I am in the process of sorting out a rubber kit for it so it stops becoming inundated with rain! parrot Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 In my search for all things KE15, which makes a change from TE27 and AE86, picked up a copy of Modern Motor Jan 1969 which has a nice road test on the KE15SL as below. Some salient facts. On the contents page, the KE15SL was described as Toyota's hairy new hotted up coupe. SL pricing was $2498. 'Lavish' equipment included lightly tinted glass, self seeking radio, seat belts (!) and twin wing mirrors. It's a scream looking back on these old mags now, the stunning new Mazda coupes with rotaries, the introduction of fuel injection into 'ordinary' cars and so on. Fantastic advertisements, often with a girl draped over whatever was for sale. Quote

kexxxclub Posted October 17, 2009 Report Posted October 17, 2009 (edited) Very nice sprinter. Love the way they need so little to look so cool. How do you go with rear tyre scrubbage? Tyre scrubbage was gonna be my exact question, looks tough, but looks like it will rub a fair bit, how far out the gaurds do they sit . Edited October 17, 2009 by kexxxclub Quote
whatthe? Posted October 17, 2009 Report Posted October 17, 2009 (edited) Yeah, a little scrubbage, but not too bad. Only really rubs on big bumps. I'll get some pics down the side of the car so you can see how far out they sit. Because theyre only 185s on 7.5" rims most of the edge of the tyre is inboard Edited October 17, 2009 by whatthe?
