ke20rota Posted March 29, 2012 Report Posted March 29, 2012 hey guys ard girls, just a few quick question, I'm in the middle of rebuilding my ke20 and I'm wanting to purchase some RS watanabes. just wondering what i could fit under the gaurds size wise. was considering 15x7 with 21+ offset. wondering if i could run these or even 15x 7.5/15x8 cheers, tom Quote
benzo Posted April 7, 2012 Report Posted April 7, 2012 7J +/-0 will fit stock guards but 15"s are enormous under a KE20 1 Quote
styler Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 (edited) 15x7 +21 is almost spot on for front and rear to fill completely under stock guards. Add an extra inch on rim width for bead lip and multiply by 25.4 to convert to mm rim width and you can compare to tyre width and go from there, also sidewall height is a factor. jfgarro Posted July 19, 2012 Report Posted July 19, 2012 Name: Jose Car: 1974 KE20 4 doors sedan 5K 1500 engine with 5 speed tranny, maybe of a 80's Starlet Stock front suspension, lowered rear suspension, stock front sway bar, urethane bushings all around Stock drum brakes in each corner, Starlet (80's???) brake booter 5 holes telephone dial 12inch wheels, with Yokohama 165/60R12 tires Interior and body: in much need of love! I bought this car from a friend's uncle, the only owner since new. It has no structural damage, only the known rust problems of every KE2x. My plan is to restore it to (I hope) factory condition, but with a few upgrades, like front disc brakes, 13 or 14inch wheels (minilite style) and reinforcements bars under the fenders, in the engine compartment and the trunk, so it can gain structural stifness. I'm planning a full body and interior redo for the next year, with a new color and materials, and new rubbers (windshields, door's glass) as well. Quote

First I fixed the rust in the front quarter smashed out the dints, flared the arches and repainted them. Next was the cage followed by a tidy up of the dash and door trims etc, then the car got a full respray (back yard job) and covered in stickers. We pulled out the 3k and wacked in a 4k. the 4k has been completely rebuilt, 20 tho oversize, new pistons, rings, bearings, full gasket set, new valves, valve seats and valve springs, port and polish, retuned dizzy, 10.5:1 compression, twin 40mm side draft webers, 4-1 extractors and a 2" exhaust with a hotdog. Revs to 8,000RPM and sounds awesome. Made 45.5rwkw on the dyno with 9.8:1 comp and I haven't had it on a dyno since putting the comp up to 10.5:1 but it made a huge difference so I'm guessing 50-55rwkw now. I am currently rebuilding a big port 4age for her to go in over christmas with a t50 and ta22 axel. 1 Quote
