Redwarf Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 You can get rose joints from any decent bearing sales place. Most industrial area seems to have one of these places..... The only other thing you have to do is make up some spacers, but that's easy. Interested to here about the GJ arms, too. Cheer, R Quote
Raven Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 Excuse me for being a dumb shit, but do the spacers go on each end of the rose joint to take up the slack? Quote
MRMOPARMAN Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 yes, to centre the rose joint on the mount and so it doesnt flop around. those rosejointed arms, have you set them up so you can adjust them without removing them, or do you have to pull the end off and turn to adjust? Quote
Redwarf Posted November 15, 2006 Report Posted November 15, 2006 Raven, have a look at above link, and you can see the spacers.... Mr M, They're adjustable by removing the inner bolt and then turning the eye end. Bit fiddly on the aligner, but once they're done, they're set for good. Myself and the local Pedders boys here (gratuitous sponser plug) have got it down to a fine art. :hmm: On 20's, putting more thread on the castor arms helps things, too. Quote
Raven Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 Ahhh I see :hmm: Looks good. What are the spacers made out of? Mild steel? Quote
Redwarf Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 the set in the photo are brass (meh, we had some lying around) andthe ones on the 37 are alloy. Quote
Raven Posted November 18, 2006 Report Posted November 18, 2006 Sweet. Might have to get myself some of those. Including my panel van :hmm: Quote
anastasios Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 we used gh sigma lcas in my cousins ke30 and they are fine and give a good amount of camber, if u use the wrong ones like my cousin did in his 86 then they give over 5 deg of camber Quote
dan05k Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 I'm looking at adapting s13 coil overs to my ke20 in a similar way its commonly done to ae86's. its no good for a road car though as it increaes the track by alot and should create a hell of alot of camber, but thats perfect for my track car. this conversion also means i can run the flating disk set up of a s13 and much better calipers too. will let u know how i go. MRMOPARMAN Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 i was thinking of doing the same thing dan to my race car. set of s13 coilovers, adjustable camber plates and adjustable lower control arms using s13 items. I'm not sure what the axle to strut housing inclination is but with all of the above items i reckon you could get it pretty close to factory track. Quote
dan05k Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 I'm not too worried about keeping factory track as i have 50mm flares on anyway, but I'm thinking i will need to move the stut top in via adjustable tops to keep the sterring axis inclination right and also have heaps of camber, hopefully this will work. I'm almost thinking about going to whole hog and converting to a ke70 rack while I'm at it. Quote
MRMOPARMAN Posted November 21, 2006 Report Posted November 21, 2006 mine actually has a ae86 rack in it. it was already done when i bought the car but i can tell ya the finished product it definately worth it! its so light yet has good feel and very direct. a bit more lock too. looks like a shiteload of work though. if your in melb your more than welcome to come and have a looksie..
