Mr Rolla Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 Well since there is no point of doing this i'll keep on coming up with crazy ideas thanks heaps for the imput Luke :) Don't let anyone discourage you from doing it, the colder the air, the better the combustion, depending on the climate you live in, when you fit extractors on the engine you have to remove the junction between the inlet manifold and the exhaust side, get some exhaust wrap and decrease the heat transfer from the exhaust and the intake manifolds, hook up your pod and the cold air intake by boxing the pod in on the inside wall and removing some radiator support pannel to let breath, a decrease of intake temperature WILL increase the output, even if it is only a small amount there will be a noticable difference. Hence the reason they use Intercoolers to decrease the temperatures of the compressed air from the turbos, the cooler the air the bigger the bang. You will find that alot of the earlier vans such as the L300's Mitsubitchies have an intake set up that would suit the application your thinking of, and the whole idea is to experiment and have some fun in the process isn't it. :D Quote
love ke70 Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 you are correct but in a turbo setup you drop the charge temp from stupidly hot, to about 20 to 30 degrees above ambient in a good setup on a 4k in a ke70 bay you might drop the intake temp 5 degrees i don't think it will be a huge difference Quote
