  1. Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear Grimwolge!!! Happy birthday to you! hip hip HORAY hip hip HORAY!! :D Hope your day is special dg
  2. My only tip would be - be confident (always act as if you know what you are doing!) but not cocky, they hate that. And whatever you do DON'T mention how you want to get into motorkhanas and khanacrosses etc! :D Actually, just be yourself, I'm sure you are super overprepared. And, ofcourse, GOOD LUCK! a little bit of luck is always nice - may your reverse parks not be on a giant hill, may your multiple point turn be only 3, may bad drivers stay out of your way!
  3. I'm not sure who the original post whore is, but when I grow up I wanna be Teddy!!!
  4. So what now? Can we protest?
  5. Warning: I'm going to be controversial here!! Rob was ROBBED (pun intended) The change to the results was about a WD that was overturned and rightly so. However, there are more than 3 witnesses that saw the same person WD another test and the officials did not record it. Having an incorrect WD overturned knowing they WD'd another test is just plain bad sportmanship. At least we know that Rob was the real winner because bad sports don't count. That's my piece, nuff said
  6. Great work Fook!! Sounds like a blast!! And, for the record, I think you'll find that 99.9% of the time spectating is free out there.
  7. ... um, they do all of the time. Men actually tend to compete in events (aka "training"; because you're always learning something) whereas clubs need to specifically organise ladies events to encourage chicks to give it a go. I think it mostly has to do with being intimidated by males - especially when they put their 2 cents in (especially partners!). The request for no male spectators backs up this theory! Amylee, we need more chicks out there having a go and having a good time and NOT CARING about what everyone else thinks. Events like these are not implying chicks need more training than blokes, it's about getting women out in an environment they feel comfortable in..... so that next time they can compete along side their male counterparts. So, why don't you give it a go???? :D
  8. The Ironman weekend is: Friday 1st October - nav run Saturday 2nd October - sprint and motorkhana at Queensland Raceway Sunday 3rd October - hillclimb at Mount Cotton Best over all of these events in the same car is the IRONMAN. One day it will be a woman! Cost is usually around $150 which is a BARGAIN. Keep your eye on the MG Car Club web site for supp regs.
  9. Unfortunately this is the same day as the Ironman Sprint out at Willowbank, possibly also an Interclub Challenge round! Bugger, it looks good!!
  10. That's funny cos one of the scrutineers asked Rob about whether to put mumblezz sprinter into class B or C because it was right on the border of both. I don't know what they ended up doing for Paul, but I think we said to him to ask Keith what was usually done. What class is your car normally in Fook/mumblezz?? Redwarf is definitely always class B, so it sounds like Fook you would have been in class C? If you're right on the border, it would be to your advantage to be in class C. Re: pretty crappy day - I think everyone except Rob had a bad one. Ken Graham came second allegedly and he hit posts. Sounds like Rob was the only one not to hit posts or manage a WD. Usually the top 10 have a flawless day, so that gives you a bit of an indication. Fook, I would have been stoked to make the top 10, you get QMS points for that!! Congrats! ps. I am pretty keen on this dirt motorkhana on August 29th I keep hearing about but have absolutely no idea how to get supp regs or find out even where to start finding out that info. Who has supp regs?
  11. Yes, cats are evil! Fook I'm allergic too! But cats are extremely selfish - although every cat owner is convinced that theirs somehow isn't and actually likes them! I have met some cats that I partially like. Craig does that mean you like cats and your gf doesn't? Dogs will die for you and are gorgeously cute in their devotion, that's what I think a pet is for!!
  12. Yeah, cats are nice... they taste great in curries and also nice with noodles and vegies. cats... *ugh*.... although I'm sure yours is nice Tom!!
  13. Results are extremely provisional, apparently there are a select few that have them for the moment. They are being re-checked. This is only a 2nd hand rumour, but enough to publish!!!
  14. AMAZING NEWS!!! very very very very VERY provisional results from the motorkhana reveal..... .... the winner.... (wait for it)!!!! *crowd roars!* Everyone bow down to the Corolla living LEGEND!!! :D
  15. Navigators bag: a black satchel with clipboard, pens, bulldog clips, Qld Challenge road book left over, a bit of Targa paperwork like scrutineers sheets (ahh the memories), digital watch, chewing gum, $10 in change blah etc yada. They're really handy and lots of navs have them. When navigating for Rob, I use his Redwarf Motorsport embroidered bag that I got him for Christmas last year. I always said it was like getting a present for myself - similar to when Homer bought Marge a bowling ball for her birthday with "Homer" engraved on it?! That was me (Homer) buying Rob (Marge) a bowling ball (nav bag)!!
  16. As of yesterday morning: Glove box: - Paperwork and general crap Center console: - fudge hair wax - handsfree mobile kit - waterbottle - lip gloss - spare change Behind passenger front seat: - L18 Datsun head *grrh* Behind drivers seat: - full face helmet - navigators bag - esky cooler with 2 hot cokes (all left from Queensland Challenge) Back seat: - backpack with spare clothes, shoes (eh, you never know) Boot: - 4 tyres - 3 tyres and rims (just picked them up from Redwarf's place) - jack, spare blankets for wrapping car junk in Took me ages to clean my car out yesterday arvie! dg
  17. $2K??! Redwarf won't be happy - think that the infamous REDWRF victorian plates are planned for retirement with the dawn of the new Bluedwarf era..... sad sad day.....
  18. Sorry, I am gesturing wildly in my lounge room thinking about how to explain what I mean. I'll try again You know how half the point of jerking the handbrake is to upset the back end and then you powerslide out of the corner/pole? And the greater and sharper the jerking of the handbrake, the better it works? Well, when I try and do that in Rob's car, it doesn't work and I understeer towards the gutter etc. Because my 'jerk' is not strong or sharp. In my old 1600, I had more travel than 2 inches, so it was easier to jerk and had less resistance. I think if there is more travel in the handbrake, the greater chance I have of actually snapping it and it actually working. Having said that, there is such thing as too much travel! Is that a better explanation? or is it theoretically flawed? I frequently speak rubbish because I understand something mechanical in my head - makes sense to me - but is actually really really wrong!!
  19. Redatto and Redwarf do not have a "normal" handbrake in addition to the hydraulic ones. Not sure why - my old white 1600 that Ev and Cara own has the old cable one under the dash as well. Redwarf's hydraulic handbrake only travels about 2 inches, hence the reason why I've had today off work with an extremely sore back.... half the process of handbrake turning is the initial "REEF" of the handbrake, and if you only have 2 inches distance to travel, it's not much. I don't think it's a bad distance theoretically (ie, little reef distance, therefore makes it easier?).... but then again, I don't have the initial strength to do that whereas Rob does. So I guess I use a bit of distance to build up the "reef" part if that makes any sense? I don't think that answered your question, but a few thoughts for your consideration anyway.... dg
  20. sorry, I thought you were... where can we find out? does the motorkhana panel have a web site or should we go to the HSCCQ web site instead?
  21. Oh wow, I'm impressed!! Casper the friendly ghost.... hmm, yeah I like it too. The number plate wasn't too much help.
  22. Mrs Redwarf is having her baby shower - no can do!!
  23. Yes, one MUST have space for a maccas thickshake!!! cool!!
  24. I like Hayley Jensen the best, her voice is pure honey. That Chanel chick seems to be trying too hard to be "different" and "quirky". I think that someone who is geniunely different is Ngaiire Joseph, she is a little unpolished and just natural. Okay, so I might watch it occassionally. btw: Bega is also universally known as RALLY HEAVEN. Legend has it that they are the smoothest and fastest roads in Australia, they get fields over 100 clubman entrants and you have to apply to enter - NSW club entrants get selected first, then ACT, then VIC, us Queenslanders have no hope, Redwarf and I were talking about temporarily joining a NSW club to get in!!!
  25. I think Fook is finding out for us. btw - back in the olden days, 'reverse 180s' used to be called 'reverse flicks' and they're cool. My Dad, to this day, still tells the story of when he did the PERFECT reverse flick in Hopkirk, back in 1979 (or sometime near then)..... me, I usually end up taking out half of the finish garage when I give it a try!!
