  1. Agree wholeheartedly!! But we can't pretend that most "congregating enthusiasts" are purer than the driven snow. Everyone knows that many of them indulge in illegal activities on the roads, especially speeding. Be honest, we know it happens ALL of the time and loads of people think they're cool for getting away with it. To me, these kinds of of police responses smacks of frustration at knowing "enthusiasts" engage in illegal activities and get away with it. I'm not condoning the police response AT ALL, I'm just saying that we have to acknowledge that they're not far off the mark. That is, that illegal street activity does come from these guys. And we have to also acknowledge that everyone, including the police, wants less young people hurt and killed on our roads. I'm just not sure they're going about it the right way though. Here's what I AM saying: If only we could get those that congregate at broadwater/maccas etc into a car club to encourage legitimate enthusiasts towards legitimate motorsporting events .... .... then maybe we'd see less people driving around the streets. And that might lead to a reduction of illegal and dangerous behaviour.
  2. Yes, I think this is where Bean gets it from. Haggers is a legend of epic proportions. You HAVE to meet him - especially after a few of those aforementioned red wines.
  3. Well, suffice to say the motorkhana wasn't one of my best events. I've discovered that I have lost my motorkhana mojo of late. Or maybe rallying sucks it out of you. But how do you explain Redwarf. Right, back ontopic. So, in two words or less: I sucked! I CAN'T do handbrake turns anymore!! *stamps foot* Then again, my day didn't suck as much as Fook's so I'll stop whingeing. Other things learnt: 1. Mumblezz is far too FAST for his own good. Although his enthusiasm (read: drifting) isn't altogether always suited to the test but what-the-hey, I bet he has the best time out of all of us!! :) 2. Teddy is the BEST cheer squad you could ever ask for. Even when you suck at a test, he will appear at your window encouraging you to do better next time (does that guy EVER stop smiling?) =) 3. Even when a half shaft in your Datsun mashes at the universal joint making cool colours in the metal, your day isn't over. As we were pushing the car over to the trailer, some other 1600 gurus came running after us going "wait, don't give up, we have spare half shafts!". 2.67 seconds later, there are stands under my car, 3 or 4 rollaclub members chipping in and helping. I am back in businees by the next motorkhana test. THANKS guys. :) 4. Fook was very generous and lent me his road tyres to burn out on the motorkhana tests. Or maybe he had just seen my form all day and wasn't worried. Hmm :) 5. Driving home with a connection to alternator off and losing battery power is not good. I was driving in the pouring rain - no lights, windscreen wipers breaking the slowest windscreen wiper-ers award and bald front tyres - down right scary :D 6. Redwarf in Bluedwarf is driving God. Nuff said.
  4. Was not written by Redwarf!! It was written by a guy in NSW who is an absolute CLASSIC, laughed my head off!! ROFL
  5. Ooooh way cool! thanks!!
  6. She is my idol! (apart from Michelle Mouton) I have put a link to her web site on mine. Majorly cool chick!! Hope you have another fat time service crewing for her!
  7. I'm sure there are some glam shots of Redwarf out there surely. I presume you don't want Datsuns in your rollaclub calendar, ha ha!!
  8. Re: not separating the classes into FWD/RWD except for D class - Fook, this is the national standard. Queensland does things differently. Actually, not all that long ago, Queensland didn't separate FWD/RWD except in D class either. To some people, there isn't any difference between FWD or RWD. Except in D class where the fronts absolutely HOSE the rear wheel drives.
  9. I might go have a look at the 7th November one but I'll definitely be there on Sunday! It's the interclub challenge round this Sunday too - should be good! And EXCELLENT value at $35. $65 is a bit strange. Think I'd rather do a hillclimb or buy 2 rollaclub shirts or enter 2 motorkhanas or go to the movies 5 times or enter 2 khanacrosses instead! I think they just priced most motorkhana competitors right out of the market without realising it!!
  10. According to Redwarf the segment went for 3min 54s! It was on Brisbane Extra and it was the last segment before the news. I am surprised at how many people actually watch Brisbane Extra!! :-) It was fun.

Yikes!! if you didn't factor that in, or have savings, you'd be stuffed!! I guess that is why it's good if you know someone who is in England coming back or something. Tax avoidance is a good thing. But that is loads cheaper than you were quoted. But still quite disappointing I bet

This is seriously off topic, but yeah satin is the shiny stuff that is synthetic. ditto for "real" women - you'd have to search the shops to buy some satin undies, they are SO 1980s!! (sorry girls if you wear them!)

This one time, at Targa :) (you can slap me for all the times I have started a post like this!) ... a rude man asked to see my underpanties and bra. As I raised my hand to slap him, my driver explained that I had to show the scrutineer that they were fireproof. So, YES, I actually had to show my Bonds knickers and cotton bra (NO underwire either, in accidents they have been known to have an eye out) to the scrutineer. I wondered if the man thought that I would wear the same undies and bra the whole time, since he didn't ask to see 5 sets of them. :P
  16. I think the next one is on October 15th by my calculations. Start your planning now!!

Sounds like you guys are in for a tonne of fun. There's just far too much motorsport on this weekend to possibly try and get to all of it!! I'll be out at the Willowbank autocross track - but good luck to your khanacrossers.... Stay away from the SHREES!!
  18. I do believe that Redwarf Junior's middle name is Peter in Icelandish? Or I could be lying. Peter - that looks, and sounds, AWESSSSOME even for a Toyota
  19. ... literally.....
  20. If it's a hassle don't worry about it. Just an idea!!
  21. It's too clean!! It doesn't look like a real workshop - does any work REALLY happen there?! I like Redwarf's workshop the best - when it's clean and tidy and you don't spend 3 out of 5 hours searching for the 14 mm socket.
  22. Just picking up what corolla gurl said, if us girls get some nice fitted tops (I'd be cool with singlets, so long as they weren't too strappy) and supply them to you for embroidery, would that be ok too? amylee might be in for that too??
  23. I had a few datgirl racing tshirts and jackets embroidered recently. I also did the Redwarf Motorsport stuff too. I got REALLY good quality polo shirts from Giordiano for $25 each, got embroidered at around $15 each. I know this is a bit more than you guys were talking about though. I've found that the embroidering is a reasonable price and you can go back and get more done whenever you want. Although Grim I bet you've got someone all sorted. Datgirl Racing (Fashion Police Department) decrees that black is NO GOOD due to aforementioned fading issues. The Department approves of red but prefers dark blue - very classy and looks v.nice on boys. btw: what's wrong with the writing you have on the banner for the web site? the natural choice is to get a Toyota logo involved but that's out, so what about a classic corolla badge or something? Bring on the logo comp!

I didn't feel the need for jammies at Targa - mind you it was v.cold in Tassie. I agree that the balaclavas are good value, but the jammies I think are just spoiling yourself!! Treat your suit to a dry clean if you're super worried!!
