  1. Replaced the TPS. Didn't fix a thing... I'm now replacing the leads, rotor button and dizzy cap. got a slight change in idle, Idled a little smoother, with a new coil-dizzy lead. Just have to get the rest now. I'm really hoping that this fixes it because this is just getting annoying and I need it on the road so my girl has the family car while I'm at work.
  2. Ok having a good look at the car it isn't actually miss firing. The new map does the same as the old map just cuts it out after idleing great for 5 seconds... I'm starting to think it may be the TPS.. Is anyone able to confirm it ? Reading about the TPS apparently it also helps in telling the ECU how much fuel to dump in via the degree of the butterfly. So this is the reason I am starting to think that it may be dead.
  3. It is a brand new coil.. took the original coil to Auto 1 and had the part number looked at and got the exact same one brand spanking new.. So the coil is not the problem anymore.. Could be the leads or maybe something in the dizzy or even the igniter
  4. Ok guy here's the story I've got a 4AGE bigport in my KE70, it has had the engine in there running 1.5 years ago then we pulled it out. Have recently got it back in and running. When we first started it there were some issues starting, got it sorted turns out the coil was not happy and we changed it and it was running great for about an hour... We jacked up the back end to put the new tailshaft in and wire the thermo fan back in and now it doesn't want to run.. We unplugged the MAP and it started and ran, rough but it ran, would not rev over 4500 rpm. When we plug the map in when it's running it idles great won't rev and then it stalls about 4 seconds after reconnecting it. It almost sounds like misfire and not getting enough spark which was the problem before. I tested the relays and fuses and they are all okay. I can't work it out and the manual keeps leading back to electrical problems as to why it won't work.. Bought a new map and that didn't fix it. thought about getting a new TPS but I keep ending up with the same conclusion, Igniter or spark problems, Any ideas or help would be greatly appriciated because I want to get it running again and driveable.
  5. Yep that's the one.. Country town of stanthorpe. This damn car is just starting to annoy me. Traced the wires back to the drivers side kick panel where they went into that circuit/fuse box thing there. after that I have no idea and have since lost interest in trying to get it working.
  6. Ok, so it fired.. ran barely, told rancher to check the timing... pulled the dizzy off checked it all over put it to almost perfect now it won't spark again and the wires to the gearbox are still connected. Why so much bloody trouble with such a little thing.
  7. Hey guys I really need your help to diagnose a problem. My 4AGE has been out of the car for about 1.5 years now. When it was in it all worked, now we can't get spark and the ignitor has power going to both positive and negative on my coil... Why is it doing this, is it broken or is something else stuffed. Also the ignition barrel was customised a bit so a switch was used to send power to everything and a push button installed. It has now been returned to the barrel. Pleas help me as I am trying to get the car registered again and this is really holding it up as there is only little things remaining to re regester it.
