  1. ooooppss...had a closer look at the picture, a breether hose connects onto that and goes into the bottom of the air cleaner, the setup you got there is illegal i'm pretty sure.
  2. Wow.....I'd love to do that....the corolla is strong but a journey around australia might melt it, especially lately now that its been 43 deg celcius in the city.....
  3. Thought i'd put an update in, going to do a seperate thread for it but just reading some stuff and have some answers. got a MAP sensor from a vr i think from u-pull-it for 8 bucks  bit better than a few hundred, also another member is sending me a locked dizzy so should be setting it up next weekend hopefully, along with a weber maybe. Also have done a graph in autocad, but the previous pictures supplied and the manual don't line up so i'm just going to set it up for 8 deg at idle and slowly ramp it up to 25 deg at 3000 rpm, then refine in as i drive along. The Vacuum is easy, just have to map out 15 points of vacuum from 3.94 in. Hg to 8.66 in. Hg except in bar :hmm: .
  4. Just remember though that the cheapo's haven't been through testing and things like that, which make them illegal. Was going to get a cheap one for my first car and the guy in the shop said each legal steering wheel goes through like $10,000 of testing, thats why they cost 400 bucks
  5. um...there's this stuff that this guy at work talks about all the time, he used to work at McClaren in england it's called 'alcantara'. it's used in the new lambo's interior, i felt the stuff and am going to try and gt my steering wheel done
  6. hey, this is a really old topic but instead of starting a new one i'll just ask here, i have the same problem and i was going to do the same thing (grind down the caliper) but EVERYone i spoke to said no. There are no galleries behind there, but a guy said that its there to stop excess vibration and noise. Anyway, on my rim it needs a 5mm spacer (i know dodgey), there is the option of getting the wheels machined but that has a high cost. Is there a big difference with the ke55 brake calipers, mines a ke35, so is it a direct bolt on part? Sorry all good now.....found this thread http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=4832

    spotted a ke70 on winston ave bout 1:30, got a wave...gave a wave....love the corolla spirit
  8. Um....sorry but next time could you start another topic, it's confusing me to who people are answering to....i'm getting a wheel balance and alignment tomorrow afternoon, oh and i can feel a very faint wobble when the suspension moves. As in i go over a bump or something. Another question is when i go over the sewer cover things the car seems to move arouund a bit, like jump to the side or something, should i just replace the shocks and the front springs then see how i go? on a bit of a budget now :lolcry: so yeah
  9. Wheels were balanced in october i'm pretty sure, but like i said it only did it with other people in the car, the steering wheel was moving like 1-2 inches around
  10. Hey guys, i recently put some dragway rims on my Ke35 and the first test drive showed that the car needs a wheel alignment. But i've been a bit slack and left it, but its been driving fine, actually alot better than before. But last night i had two other people in the car and the steering wheel (and entire front end) randomly wobbled badly at speeds of a bout 40-50 then i'd stop and it'd be fine, then it would do it randomly again. so i dropped one person off, and it did it less, then dropped the last person off and i was able to drive with no problems, and this was going through 80 zones. Just to let you know the front still has the old springs from the auto to manual conversion on it, so the front sits higher and also i'm running a 4 or 5mm spacer in the front, cause the rim hits the caliper ;)
  11. You could lock it and go an electronically controlled ingnition system, just requires some electronics skill, excellent for you want to do. You can modify the timing as you drive and as you dyno and things like that......here's some info http:// [url=http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=34948]http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=34948

spotted a white ke30 at woodcroft shopping centre lastnight, also a yellow ke30(maybe) on south road near doors road about 6:30
  13. Then from that, i would mount the coil as far away from any computer as possible, and the primary lead CANNOT go along side any electrical wires. Thats should be your biggest concern, with a pulse of 10-50kilo volts through the leads will cause intereference in anything, even the trigger wire to the coil will pose some problems. I probably wouldn't even bother moving it, just make a stainless cover or something
  14. All those questions are the same, not sure about a 4ag coil but ol school ones would probably have sound electromagnetic leakage, are you extending the primary lead?
  15. Hey man, Don't extend the battery master cable to the starter motor, just run a new cable....a little bit different but when we do battery cable at work if its too short we just run a new cable...if you extend it the solder way it will just add a junction which will corrode and add resistance in the line, if you put a joiner in again another point of resistance....
  16. Whats cooler.....the grill on the ra28 looks so much better, never really liked celica's but the ra28 is nice car
  17. The white version of that doesn't look to bad, looks kinda like an Ra28 celica fast back, here a link http:// http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?s...568#entry396260
  18. Got some new wheels for "the beast", looks tuff
  19. Hey thought i'd share an update, car is going so well and love it som much more than i originally did. But on my drive home yesterday i saw the car that i wanted about 5 years ago, I've been looking at for sale threads on the forum and was wondering what a good price to sell this car would be??
  20. You can do what everyone is telling you to do as in just install another dash, but if you know how to use a soldering iron and know a little bit about electronics jaycar does a tacho and speedo kit, you just have to solder all the components on and run a wire from your tacho and also have to put a little magnet setup on your tail shaft which shouldn't be too hard. I have both kits, just haven't got round to fitting them
  21. Is that a cruise or meet and greet?

    Spotted

Spotted i think a red ke70 on tapley's hill road just past harbour town, nice wheels looks good...and a ke10 or 20 on winston ave about 530, looked real nice
  23. Any auto electrical joint will sell you the pats, like i said midas on south road gave me mine, and if it's only a year old don't worry about the bearings
  24. might as well get the full kit, bearings and regulator, theres a place on south road near...umm....Midas......1210 South Road (Cnr Celtic Ave), Clovelly Park, 5042....phone number is Arnold Wischi: (08) 8277-9755. went in there to get mine really easy to deal with, and i'm guessing cause mine is a early 3k yours should be the internal bosch type. Oh and you need a special tool to get the end bearing off the rotor, luckily a hacksaw did the job for me
  25. What ever you do don't smoke near it or get any ignition source on it, Hydrogen is dangerous  :P  just rebuild the alternator and buy a new battery....oh and getting the battery the wrong way round when its charged is bad...when it's dead flat you can actually reverse the poles..but stuff the battery up
