  1. I was going to get one, how tall are you, cause the seating position is heaps weird and the one i was going to get had a leaky injector. And was told by heaps of people to avoid them, are you looking into getting into four wheel driving?
  2. ummmm....use this as a guide just for now, tomorrow i'll do it in the daylight and get more exact answers
  3. ummm....the bottom of the window is roughly 980 and also the top of the window where it angles down is about 580mm from the back corner....update VVVV
  4. i can also get the length of the base of the window if you want
  5. Hey don't know if this helps but from the back corner to the top back corner is 340mm and from that same corner following the window all the way down to the front is 1120.....i'll draw a pic
  6. Have you done a carby rebuild before? Cause mine had flat spots, so i decided to rebuild it. Went all good but for some reason now it just stutters when i put my foot down hard or it feels like the high speed jet is blocking the fuel only sometimes. I'd seek out a specialist to rebuild it, would only cost maybe a 100 with a tune and all that. To be honest with you, and this is just an opinion i wouldn't bother with upgrades with it being auto, just having an auto your losing power already. When i first got my car is was running dodgey, but after about 50 bucks i'll be able to drive it for ages.
  7. So does anyone else actually own a 35?, cause i don't see many on these threads
  8. how bout a 7k, or is that when the gearbox changes and mounts and things?? from a 3k....
  9. That's slightly more complicated, the simplest thing i can think of is dirty contacts in the light switch itself, or they are loose. I guess checking the continuity of the door switch wire to the light would be another thing to check.
  10. ah...from that you've said that you've replaced both the front door switches, yeah? when he installed them did he give them a good clean, i mean between the switch and the body, and that light is controlled from ALL the switches, so i'd check the back ones as well. Just take all the switches out of the car and see if it turns off, the switch works by putting earth onto the wire at the back of the switch, if the globe doesn't turn off then, you'll have a short to ground somewhere in the circuit. But in my experience 90% of the time it's the switches.
  11. so is there a difference with a ke30 2 door and a 2 door ke35, or are they the same thing.....or is the ke30 2 door the one with a pillar??
  12. True totally forgot about them, his other posts suggests he has a 2 door ke30, which means sealed beam....in that case replace them with semi sealed replacements, can get them from sprints for like 20 dollars each or something, not including globes :P
  13. You sure its just not a blown globe, High and low beam are two seperate filaments. Cause if one side is working fine, it means the circuit is getting power.
  14. Hey, apart from the performance parts inside the engine, i've done a full 3k rebuild as well....and i'm thinking more power...is a 5k a direct bolt in? Like mounts are the same and gearbox will line up?
  15. try the tapping thing while someone has it in the crank position, if it starts you have an open circuit somewhere. Don't know about your car but for a 3k starter rebuild the previous owners paid 200 bucks, so take it out and get a rebuild kit from an auto electrical joint and do the rebuild yourself, otherwise you could get a second hand one, but because of the design of some k series exhaust systems it will need re-doing anyway.

    Spotted

I think i spotted 3 ke20's or ke10's on the esplanade around lunch time all looked real nice
  17. There was a post a little while ago http:// http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-277263304.htm
  18. How much did you pay for the tacho, cause mine was 40 bucks and it's accuracy is +/- 100 revs. thought of adding a capacitor or a resistor in to smooth the signal out but haven't tried yet.

    Spotted

Spotted a red ke35/55 on west terrace around 6 last night, also spotted a cream (i think) ke70 on west terrace with a racing stripe on it
  20. good that you got them off, another lubricant penetrating spray is INOX, really really good stuff.
  21. So are axle bearings different to wheel bearings? cause my rear end is starting to make noise and was just going to do the diff oil and the wheel bearings
  22. Well i think you'd be only be able to go to a parts store or a wreckers or even a genuine toyota place but they would be expensive that way, you could put up a 'wanted to buy thread' here, but i don't know how successful you'd be.
  23. Oh hey, i thought i'd be the only one to say welcome. Don't know why people would abuse you over a simple question, try sprint auto's, if they can't supply them just get one from a wreckers. And its better to have one in there as well.
  24. No E35's or 55's?
