  1. Burning your bushes is also another way to get them out. Just heat 'em up till they start flaming. :monkey:
  2. A lot of effort going into this little rolla. Lookin' the goods boys. Amazing what a little paint and some new bushes can do to an appearance.
  3. If I had money and wasn't on a honeymoon I would be there.
  4. Hahahaha. I had just had visions of Rob going out the back window head first in a horizontal position grinning like an idiot while still attached to the steering wheel. Hahahaha.
  5. Hahah nice section job on the cowl. That bad boy will almost be laying sill.
  6. Yes..yes keep the suspension 'coz you know I am eyeing off whatever ones you don't use. :)
  7. Hahaha nah man. I'm a tightarse. I beam would be cool but I'll probably be like everyone else and steal some IFS of some other cheapo car.
  8. I'm a member on OzRodders too. Also checkout RuffRodders. There is some excellent inspiration for 'Rat Style' projects there.
  9. Finish one conversion first before you begin thinking of another one. You'll still have plentyof fun in the car as is anyways. Be carefule of your license again man. :)
  10. Good to know you can pass scratch chassis. That makes things a whole lot more interesting for me. Hmmm Z frame with dropped I beam. This will be fun.
  11. Hmmm interesting
  12. Excellent. I shall be talking to you when I build my rod.
  13. Hmm interesting. I have been researching this sort of project for myself. I didn't realise you could get a custom built chassis rego'd here in QLD. I was looking at using a late 70's commercial chassis and changing the front and rear suspension setups, then grafting on whatever cab I want. What cowl are you basing your rod on? RPU or closed cab?
  14. Hmmm fast and funny as was my 1984 turbo charade. DOHC efi turbo 1L with 3inch exhaust, FMIC and Wolf 3D computer. Came on boost in 1st and 2nd and just used to fry the tyres. Point to point though would have to be my 1200race car that I built. A12 turbo, s13 front suspension and brakes, coilovers at all 4corners. Cornered like it was on rails, stopped on a 5cent piece and gave change.
  15. SOLVED This comment here was the winner. I was just looking at the wrong place on the wire. I was looking inside th dizzy for an earth when in actual fact the thread that goes through the dizzy wall was earthing on the outside of the dizzy wall. This was because the bakelite washer had disintegrated and I didn't realise as it wasn't there when I undid it. This explains why sometimes it would start and sometimes not. The bakelite washer was falling apart and the points wire would randomly earth out on the dizzy body. The car shaking around would move it on and off the body. Problem fixed with a piece of rubber instead. Cheers Felix.
  16. I don't think so. Is there supposed to be an earth wire to the points also. There is a spare wire inside the dizzy I thought that maybe it went under the points
  17. I don't have multi or test light to be able to test this. I can't get spark out of the HT lead when I crank either. I only drove it this morning.
  18. Its now 114pm. It's been years and years since I have had to deal with points. I went out and bought some new points coz the car was taking ages to start and coughing under load and not holding idle. Checked them and they didn't seem ot be opening and the rubbing block looked pretty worn. Anyways I fit the new points and now I can't get it to spark. I have set the gap at 0.4 and also tried 0.5. Correct me if I'm wrong but when the key is in the "on" position I should be able to get the points to spark when they open? Well I can't. I got no sprak. Any ideas?? Help...Craig
  19. Hahaha AE86 parts. Overkill on price maybe. :P
  20. What have I done lately??? Well today I replaced all the rear spring bushes with some nice polyurethane Super Pro stuff and the front swaybar with the same gear. I adjuste dthe steering box up and got rid of the 20mm or so of free play slop. Also picked up a 4k, for a carton of XXXX, which is in need of a rebuild. Apparently I overpaid. LoL. Thanks Biggo. :P Still umming and ahhing over what brakes to run. I like overkill. Big brakes ROCK and STOP hard, buuuuuuttt this car isn't really that kinda weapon. It's my daily. Looking at just settling with KE70 struts on corona arms with KE55 drums out the back. Wheels??? I want wide but I'm not prepared to pay for it. Currently thinking R31 steelies widened out to 7 or 8 inches and then painted a high gloss black. Meh I dunno. Probably also start bodywork on it soon. It's currenlty like Monet. Looks good from afar but shit up close. That pisses me off. Thinking about a little bit of custom metal work here and there. Nothing major, just subtle. Keep you kiddies updated soon.
  21. How's the deer?
  22. Too easy.

  24. Cheap n Nasty....hmmmm. Only did it for 6months of my life. Wow what a run though, I couldn't lose. Either way I got over it and now I'm getting married 'coz I found the one for me.
  25. I'ma tightarse and they have great parts interchangeability.
