  1. Balancing cost sweet FA. Do it for piece of mind. My last worked 4k saw 8000rpm regularly.
  2. Are you on OzRodders.com? If not then you should be. It may help you find some parts if you need any.
  3. You blow big fat monkey chunks. Congratulations.
  4. Some days I read your posts Fook and I think, " My god, sucks to be you," becauase I have been there.
  5. $600 my ass to install a late model efi.
  6. Some of us spend money on K motors because they don't cost a lot. That is the whole premise of a corolla. As for cross breeding I'm all for it but seriously you need to weigh up how much you are going to spend. Is it worth it? How much of the work can you do for yourself? The majority of you who ask these questions are unable to do much of it. After all it's a car that in stock form that will fetch at best $1000. I don't class spending anything over $1000 as cheap power.
  7. My toolbox consists of a mixture of stuff. Repco 1/2inch drive sockets and ratchet. Some unknown brand 3/8drive socket set. Random screwdrivers and open/ring spanner combos. Some random Teng tools stuff including a ratchet breaker bar with adjustable head, but the tools that I am completely in lurrrve with is my kinchrome ratchet spanners. Now that I have them I rarely use normal spanners. Ratchet spanners for the win. They aren't cheap, but well worth the investment. They makelight work of those bolts where you can only turn them a bee's dick. So instead of doing a small turn and then having to readjust the spanner simply wiggle back and forth instead. Sooo much better.
  8. Looks good dude. I am jealous. Wouldn't mind a play car like that again one day.
  9. The bracket off your 3k carby may fit.
  10. Jared, in terms of getting a radiator to suit auto you could always buy a manual rad and then run an oil cooler from your tranny. Coolers can be had at the wreckers for $100 or so, sometimes less. To run the lines simply run efi fuel hose up to the coooler at the front and back to the tranny. Alternately I have a 4spd here you can have for nothing. You'd just have to put the shifter back on it. Craig
  11. ^^^^ Funny I was going to say something along those lines...more like drive it like you stole it.
  12. You need better time management skills then. :P
  13. Congrats Trev. :P
  14. Well done Lesley. That Bloody Rob bloke pops up everywhere. :P
  15. Yeah I saw the ute at Yatala one day. It had a bloody No Fear sticker on the back window.
  16. Bunnings would. They have everything. Very clever of the guy. I don't know if it is something I would do though.
  17. My 4agc with twin webers used to run a modified serIII bluebird dizzy from memory. It was a hall effect setup, recurved to suit the 4a and modified to fit. Unfortunately that's all I know about it because it came on the car.
  18. That's just extremely poor form. No respect for other people's property.
  19. You're fusken crazy but it's cool as!!!
  20. I don't know whether to believe it or not. Mazda doing deals with Holden? What the??? "Believe nothing of what you read on the net and only half of what you see."
  21. I will be watching Rob. I was thinking of just drilling out the mounting holes in the top of the strut mount and then leaning it over. Cover it up with a strut bar so you can't tell I've hacked the top.
  22. Cheers guys. I have a couple of spare grills. This one just fits the best. I also have the corner things without indicators in them. Black wheels have been done to death so I went with white. It really needs some chrome baby moon caps to finish the wheels.
  23. Here it is as it sits now. A little bit neater and not quite as wild.
  24. Pretty much sorted. A couple of 70km round trips to work sorted out the engine issues. As for the brakes, replced the wheel cylinders at the back and also adjusted the wheel bearings at the front. That helped massively. All good. I might even have it rwc by the end of the week.
  25. All back together. Brakes are crap and spongy. Despite many bleeds I am still yet to figure out why. I think I shall have to change the rear wheel cylinders. Doh. Engine is finally running after sorting out why it had to run 30 degrees advance in the timing. Turns out the the cam was one tooth out. Now it starts first time runs average under 3500rpm then screams out to 8000rpm. Jamie and I have been chatting and we are beginning to think it is the 32/36 weber that causes the issues down low.
