as i said above curly...don't bother with posting comments regarding towing... and I'm more than aware that mounts not the main portion of a conversion...however, in this instance, mounts are the only thing apart from tailshaft that i can't do myself and can you stop posting about 3RZ's...i don't care about your opinion on them...if i was to put a 3rz in, then it would negate the whole conversion price wise a little more thought before posting might be helpful on your behalf

that is actually dissapointing....would have paid good cash for it just to get the x-members

does anyone know the current whereabouts of the above vehicle? EDIT: by that, i mean does anyone know who current owns it, wouldnt mind having a chat with them/making an offer

if your talking about the conversion being idiocy then you need to rethink your comment

lol at 90% of the responses in this thread... for starters the only real info i wanted to know is regarding putting the motor in, not wether it would be good for towing or not...i don't care how illegal it is or how stupid you think it is... the driver in the above video did the wrong thing when the caravan started to swing anyway... at the end of the day, nothing you say in this thread regarding the cars use for towing will change my mind on doing the conversion...so if you don't mind getting back on topic that would be great...

if the trailer is loaded correctly then there should be barely any weight on the actual car, add to that it will be a "braked" trailor and I'm not too sure where the big issue is? so in reality its just custom cross members...thats not too bad

for starters, it wont be "underbraked", I'm not as silly as it appears most of you think, if i was to go ahead with the 22re, then i would also be putting either my spare set of fc3s brakes on, or doing the CPH upgrade Witzl: custom engine mounts isnt really much of an issue, what gearbox are you running, and what gearbox crossmember?

yeh i have the shell sitting here and need to do something with it, money is abit tight, and i can't have any more cars at my house, running out of room have used a 22re for towing duties before and it was sweet, after all it would be towing a stripped out sprinter, so probably only 900kg odd plus trailer

the other reason i was leaning on 22re was the availability of motors, and considering making it my tow vehicle

hi, i have a spare shell sitting here and have decided i would like to put a 22re into it has anyone here done this before? just need to work out crossmembers ad that before i go get the new motor also trying to work out whether i can put the whole drivetrain - motor, gearbox, tailshaft and diff - in to eliminate the need for a custom tailshaft any help is greatly appreicated cheers
