  1. Hi, I believe this is a common 4ac problem as I have the same. Take a look at where the temp is when this happens, if it';s anything like mine it will be when you come to a stop and you are idling, thats when she'll start to warm up and the thermostat will open and the little banger starts to struggle. The only time I have had it to when it doesn't do this is when I have had new plugs, rotor button, points, clean oil and it tuned perfectly. I also have a thermofan conversion and helped but didn't solve it. Hope this helps.
  2. If you find where to get Eagers from then please let me know as I tried 6 months ago and failed. Also the rubber paint as I want the same look for my 13' Chevoit Hustlers that I have had for 14 years and fully refurbished 2 years ago and only just now have found out what they are called. Thanks for this thread and for the link Philbey. P.S. The higher and wider the profile, the bigger and better the wheel looks. I found some 185/70/13 and they look a lot fatter than 175's
  3. Hey Lachlan, I have a similar noise that has been annoying me in my wagon and I just found out what it is. The rough blokes who changed my windscreen had broken some of the plastic brackets that hold the windscreen surround and lost two of the screws in the bonnet lip. My point is look around your bay to see if anything has been removed and put back and is missing screws etc... If the noise is in the engine then you need to listen intently while warm. I find my 4ac has a few ticks even though it is also running awesome at the moment. I recently had a large tick that was the washer at the top of the thermostat had come off and drifted it's way into the water pump' wedging itself next to the impeller. Must have been like this for a couple of months until it dislodged. And now with new water pump that has a whine at idle. Another tick is deeper in the engine and because it only happens when it's warm I am guessing it's the front or rear bearings that are moving at low revs cos they are hot. Big job that one. A stethescope is also a tool commonly used to listen to engines. Maybe give that a try if you can get a hold of some. your ears are your best tool. 71Wagon
  4. Duuuude, I saw this thing on ebay and I soooo wanted to buy it and use it as a run around while I fix up my blue one. I am very jealous. Check out those original roof racks. Awesome. I have some old school 13' dragways with grey centres on mine and they look f$c#@*g awesome. Only downfall to old school is they are usually small and you have to put high profile tyres to look the s%#t but that little wagon is rockin' and they look cool no matter what you do to them. Get the little 4ac breathing and sparking right and she will show you some hidden wonder. And if you keep it as original as possible these things will start to appreciate soon enough, just like the datto 1200 has. Speaking of that I can't believe what he was asking, and at a straight buy it now. Wish I had the cash at the time. Happy Rollin' 71 Wagon
  5. If I want to buy something for my rolla, I come here not only to buy, but to find out where to buy. If I want to know something about my rolla, I will find out what I want to know, or where to find what I want to know. If I want to see what rolla's others are driving, I come here. Rollaclub is my first port of call whenever I want to know anything rolla, and that's a lot! The question I would like to ask is; Why do you love your Rolla? For me it is easier to state what I don't like about my Rolla. 71 Wagon. I just have to learn how to get my photo's the right size!
  6. Hey Again, Found the clearance for the engine cold. Intake - .18mm .007In Exhaust - .28mm .011In Much easier cold.
  7. Hey Mate. The valve clearance for 4ac is: (hot) Intake - 0.20mm or 0.008inch Exhaust - 0.30mm or 0.012inch You can buy mitchell on-Demand cd. I got it from ebay for $10 and it gives me every spec and operation on corolla's from 83-2000 Hope this helps.
  8. Hey Red_Gem, Your Rolla is fantastic, nice to see someone doing it right. Have you got the new coilovers yet and what are you going to do with the old one's?
  9. Hey Mate. Love the fact that you are willing to get stuck in to the rolla's but unless you are going to weld a piece into that roof, and to be honest you might as well do the rest of the holes, then nothing you do to it including bog will last very long. rust spots will start showing in the paint within a few weeks. But if you do what you did to the last one you will be able to flog it off to one of your mates for a profit. lol.
