yeah thats true but working on them every day for the same reasons is juss.. idk how to say it lol.. the other mechanics around really don't like holdens either and i guess i have gotten the attitude from them haha. but like you said all car companies have their pros and cons and toyota has the bad problem for being too eco friendly and using far too much emmision gear on their engines which is restricting the possible output of power by a fair percentage. but the thing i hate is that these bogans here believe that holdens are made in australia, when they are not.. majority of parts are made in korea and china.. and holden lies to the public with false advertising.. look at the new "SIDI" for example.. the enigne is supposidly made in australia, if this is the case why is the engine have "SAAB" written on it?? yeah thats true about the exhaust on the car, will have to wait and see how much i can get them for from the exhaust shop over here.
-
ok kool. what did you use to make that? (BTW i think you need to degrease your engine)
-
GOTTA LOVE CASTROL WOOO!!!! :(
-
yeah fair enough its however you want to have it aye. yeah thats sweet bout the shopping centre can't wait to do that myself haha. The oil has most likely made it quieter cause there is less effort to turn the engine cause the oil is thinner. haha yeah i know quite a few bogans down here haha,, all love their commys and shit (tell you the truth don't ever think of buying a holden, i work for the company as a apprentice machanic and they are SHIT) ok kool bro.. juss send me a link when you have it up
-
what have you got for a cold air intake? pics plz
-
thats good to hear then haha, will be getting mine soon with extractors.. do you have extractors on yours?
-
hey mate i own a corolla with the same engine. the black cylinder is definitely not meant to be there.. i have a pic here of what it should look like at stock. Looking at your photo, your fuel filter is not in the correct place either, where it is meant to be is on the right side of the engine bay in a holder, but what i don't understand is why the PCV (Positive Crancase Ventilation) looks to be connected to the filter Hope this helps, Danny

Hey all, names Danny, from Brisbane. Gotta Toyota Corolla SECA CSX, 4A-FC Wanting to do a 20v conversion in the near future

hey mate i have the same car and engine. there isnt really all alot you can do to them like the other guys said on this post. i recently re-kitted my carby and changed the inlet manifold gasket and it goes a fair bit better.. i will be soon getting an exhaust with extractors witch should help out a fair bit more. on your intake if you look on the left side of the engine bay you will see a sort of a S shaped pipe sitting behind your lights, i found this to be fairly restrictive remove it and throw it away. Remove your exhaust shield and that HAI (Hot air intake) dosent do shit anyway, when i removed mine it was jammed oped causing the engine to suck in hot air, i have been running mine without it for over 5 months and it dosent need it. Get some good castrol oil, i run mine on Castrol GTX3 15W40, it loves it. But don't waste too much money on it, its not anywhere near as powerful as the good old 4A-GE. When the money is good for me i will be converting mine to a 20v Blacktop or Silvertop :bash: Anywhoos good luck, Danny
-
most likely will be your regulator.. mine went on my 4A-FC a month or so ago, easy and cheap fix, just go to your local repco or autobarn they should have it in stock.. take bout 10mins or less depending on your knowledge of working on cars

thanks mate.. haha yeah everywhere is like that. :bash:
-
ok kool.. so did you just choose to get a fairly quiet one? is it a sports system? haha sounds like you know a few bogans :bash: yeah I'm sure it would sound pretty sick when you put your foot down and you hear it ecko when your in the car park.. how is it when you like floor it outside?
