  1. alright cheers for the help guys ill just ask a few places and do some more research and c what i can find. and the k50 was dirt cheap so thats why i got it and makes the conversion a lil more easier (asuming i don't have any issuse with the clutch),though probably will go a w series box when i start producing more power later. the cable is also on the drivers side tooo so its a direct fit into the ke70 ;) ill have more of a look on the excedy site but all the tercel clutches i looked at were strangely 21 spline so hopefully i missed one lol apreciate the help-cheers
  2. dammn aye was hoping it was gonna be an easy fix bt ahwell haha. but i will give the k series clutch a go once its all up and running,c how it goes lol cheers for the help taz rx
  3. hi i have not long picked up a gearbox for my 4age conversion, its a rare cable clutch k50 with an a series bellhousing integrated into the gearbox (it came out of a ae70 with a 3au). my problem is that the input shaft is 19 spline as its a k series box and the origional flywheel or preasure plate off the 3au wont line up to the 4age. so just wondering ,will a k series heavy duty clutch plate work inbetween a 4age flywheel and preasure plate? or will i have to find a clutch plate thats 19 spline and the same diameter as the 4age flywheel? any help would be apreciated cheers
  4. hey mate 4kc points gap are usually around 4 to 5 mm -smaller gap u will get better spark but points will chew out faster so yeah hope this helps
  5. the charcoal canister has one hose coming off it leading towards the tank and theres another fitting coming off it going into the air. is that meant to go to the carby or something? i think there is a lil bit ov a leak coming from the top seal ov the carb but its not really that bad. cheers for the help -jake
  6. i can smell fuel when I'm driving and the cars had time to warm up cheers
  7. cheers for all the posts guys, been very helpfull. i think it could be the motor being carboned up because its only just started doing it just recently so yeah, and no matter what timing i got it on it still does it. another thing could be the carby, because ive never been able to get it to idle right and when the engines hot i put my foot into it and can smell fuel fumes a mile away (this is with the mixture screw at 1 and a quater turns) cheers-jake
  8. Alright man ill give it a go when i go to fill up next ,may get a lil expensiv tho  haha if it still does it what would u think the causew would be ? i can smell fuel fumes too when i put my foot into it my missus hates it haha. oh and just a quick edit it did the same thing with the solenoid in but made the car run worse so it may be the solenoid
  9. what fuel you running? you should be running a minium of 95 octane timing? should be between 8 and 15 degrees advanced also check the fuel cut solenoid on the side of the carby, get someone to turn the ignition on while you listen to the carby, you should hear a click I'm not really sure how they service the solenoid? remove clean and refit? or if its a manual just put the handbrake on and drop the clutch in 4th  I'm running just normal 91 octane unleaded and 15 degrees timing , but already tried changing the timing to 8 and made no diff. although i have had a bit ov issues with the fuel cut off solenoid, so i blocked it off so maybe a new one ov those will do the trick. thanks mate
  10. hey all just got a little problemm with my 4k which is becoming very anoying, evry time i turn the key off the engine keeps trying to run on me (detonating) and the temp guage never goes past half way. I'm baffled to what could be causing it to detonate ,could it be something to do with the ignition system or the fuel? any help apreciated . cheers -jake
  11. cheers for that man very apreciated :) good luck with the conversion it sounds like u kno what you are doing hahah
  12. yeah I'm up for it car should be going by thenn( getting head re done and new rings atm) but yeh cars nothing too flash bt not too bad haha. sunday works for me too, as I'm up in mundaring way for weekends. can't WAITTT!!
  13. Thanks for that mate. any progress with this conversion? because ive actually got my engine out atm, so if its no too complicated why nt go thru with the conversion. the motors just been sitting here for weeks doing nothing lol
  14. SCHWEETTTTT!! ill have to take a look at that :) haha
  15. Yeah I'm gonna take your advice hey and not bother with it. Ill just see if anyone else wants to take the engine off my hands. CHEERS for the posts
