  1. Gave the car a treat today and brought it along to a trackday at Eastern Creek Raceway. I got an intake pipe made up for the engine bay to mount the pod filter in front of the radiator and first it looks like this: and towards the end of the day the pod broke off some where around the track leaving me to result to this backyard mod :o
  2. Same box as celica gt4
  3. Along the way i added the bucket and matching steering wheel just because the base fell out of the original seat :y:
  4. All standard fellas everything original out of the donor ae86 which it would have previously came out of.
  5. Hahahabib.... what like its my car or something :y: Anyway back to that shit hot Porsche :D mmmmmmmmmmm............ Parked on my driveway like it lives there lol i wish
  6. Shortly after the dyno day i began to get sick of the fuel surge going around left handers caused by the crappy fuel pump setup. I redid the whole lot and fitted a surge tank with lo and high pressure pumps. The modified intank pick up with pre-pump attached: and the surge tank setup in the boot:
  7. Definately worth the drive! Yeh i'll bung up more pics just gotta take em and upload em all.
  8. I thought it would be nice to see what the standard Bigport could get on the rollers so i attended a toymods dynoday and tried my luck. and heres the results. I'm overally pleased with the result:
  9. Among the first mods were do something about crappy 90's looking alloys which had great rubber but bugger all traction in the wet. Take one average looking ae71: And throw some D's on that bitch: Another great eBay find it was! I managed a complete set of 15" Watanbes measuring 7.5" wide at the front and 8.5" wide at the rears. The wheels actually came off a DR30 Skyline so the bald tread that was on there was stripped and replaced with some decent 195/50's
  10. Well since i have some spare time i thought i would make thread for at least one of my cars and my daily being the one i don't have to go into much detail with :y: Anyway i managed to pick up my 1984 AE71 Corolla in November 2006.. I found it on eBay with the seller advertising it as a 4age motor for sale. I contacted the seller for more info. After all questions were answered i came to the conclusion that the item for sale was infact an AE71 with a JDM Bigport 4age engine in it which was just out of rego and required minor pink slip. I carefully watched the auction till the end where i eventually won! YAY!!! So my brother and i began the 12 hour round trip of driving halfway to Queensland and trailering the car back to sydney. Heres the car how we found it: On the trailer ready for the trip home: Since the car lived in the countryside it was filthy with caked dirt and dust. A good detailing and it came up like this:
  11. *cough cough* Yeah when are ya gonna have it started?? hahaha work harder :P
  12. Ahh the finished product: So shiny: Hmmm not even running yet and already a challenge.. maybe? LOL
  13. nice the good old single filament globe in a dual filament housing.
  14. I have two tachos in my ae71... the original and a digital one which sits where the original radio is. It also has a shift light and voltmeter built in and also capable of being a turbo timer  This is it: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/D1-Spec-5-in-1-Mult...1QQcmdZViewItem
  15. If your going to convert then only stick with a gze for noticable gains!
  16. Hi Guys, Thought I'd post this up - the circuit club guys are having a track day at eastern creek - driver training and timing included, but no passengers. (Taken directly from their website www.circuitclub.com.au) Venue: Eastern Creek Raceway Date: Saturday 4th August 2007, 9am - 5pm Cost: $245 per driver, sorry no passengers! Official Timing and Driver Training Included! Spectators Free! Also *rumoured* that the president of Spoon might be there - it'd be awesome to get alot of toyota support there as a contrast... Hope to see you guys there, Kevin
  17. Update time: Since Chris has his car at the exhaust shop i thought i would take some spy shots. Chilling out amongst Japanese friends: The intercooler: Work in progress:
  18. Buying another toyota i hope!?! :)
  19. ooooo sexy wiring around the the front guards :lolcry: Damm that trailer must do crazy burnouts! :no2:
  20. awwwww screw that!! Those 15" Melber wheels were hot!!! Whats wrong with you Chris??? HAHAHAHA :jamie:
  21. sometimes the terminals on the battery cable to the slternator snap inside the insulation and you can't see them. wiggle the cables with the motor running and see if the light goes out.
  22. 2wd??? ive never heard of the wagons coming in a fwd layout?! Can you take pics? As for the conversion, you will find whatever you do it will be easy to do with the engine out. As in drop the motor and gearbox out together> take off old gear box> bolt on new gearbox> sort out wiring etc.> install motor back in I learned the hard way with my wagon :)
  23. If you can afford it get an auto electrician to do it... they cost more but your paying for quality and the time it takes for them to do it neat. These accesory shops e.g autobarn, strathfield etc. just get anyold accessory fitter that is qualified in the art of "twist and tape" and can smack an alarm in 30-45mins and tape everything up inside you dash so you cannot access nor remove dash panels+ switches then to add to that on a really hot day when all the tape loses its adhesivness you end up with your alarm modules/wiring falling on your feet while driving lol
  24. Is it running yet? :D
  25. Alarms are all the same! The quality of an alarm comes down to the installation.. I have used ebay alarms in all my cars and haven't had a single problem with any of them. From the simple $30 alarm to the all out pager alarm i have they have all been sweet. The best type of alarm i recommend are pager type alarms. Mine hasn't let me down yet even at work when the guys play 'smack my window' ;)
