Sad to hear Casey, what happened?
-
Few little updates ladies and gent, chrome ke30 bars purchased, spare guards and bonnet primed and sprayed ready for clear and install once the rest of the car is done. Aussie export FTMFW. :y: enjoy. EDIT: Also lowered the beast a good 3 inch, surprisingly smooth yet sporty the ke70 guards look fat once low even with stocko's on  Cheers, Crowie.

Nice fellas, good to see the colour finally went on well after the earlier incident. Have you got a time frame in which you think the car will be one the road? Cheers, Crowie
-
cheers, just a basic white Josh :y:
-
Our street is a good 6-7m plenty room to turn off their driveway without smashing into our cars on the other side of the road.

My other Formula's showed up today, they are black and look shmick! Might change your mind on keeping the red Chris. I may also just leave the rears red and fronts black for something different, I will have to experiment tomorrow I think. Update: Sanded back my new tailgate and painted the inside white, and some more bog and sanding going on. pictures of rims, tailgate and rear view of rim attached.

Two tone is for panda ae86's not ke38 wagons :y:

WGMG: Stupid C&%$s backing out of their driveway into my pops ute (which we are borrowing) dinting it so the door only just closes and not leaving a note. We live in a col-d-sack WTF grr. Happened to my brothers car only 3 or 4 days ago as well.

ke55 4 door sedan, until I lent it to a friend and he wrote it off. Corolla bug has also bitten me.

Cheers Chris Going to try and steer away from crazily stretched tyres to something a bit more subtle and safe, the width the rim I can run also depends on the offset and diameter of wheel and tyre, hoping to run 14's with a 185/55 or 195/50 on the 7's I have at the moment. ke70 guards were easy to weld on, just marked out the guards the same on both sides and cut them out with a nematic nibbler. A grinder would also do the job, find the centre and line that up with the centre of the old guards. Mark out then cut away the old guards, hold the ke70 guards in place then weld away. They are far from finished, still needs a bit of bog and a sand but I really like the look of them. Will keep the square front for a while, who knows it may grow on me. I believe that the earlier corolla's ke1x-ke5x look better in a light colour, The red is nice but it's not my cup of tea. I'm not to worried about having to paint the interior as I'm replacing all of it.

My brother also has star sharks so I might sell mine off, The ones on the left are SSR Star Formula's 14 inch rims where as the star sharks are 13's.

Cheers Carlos, Yes we all have to start somewhere, I do have a spare diff at home which I recently purchased, but if you have a different series diff that would also help. I've left a lot of information out as it's late and I'm tired, But I'll soon update it in a few days with the full story.

Hey guys, Back in February as some of you already know my baby 55 coupe was stolen :sob: I had my eye on Dougie's(phatke20) ke38 wagon he had for sale as a project build, but things dramatically changed and the search for a project turned into a search for a daily driver. Picked this beauty up for a bargain(thanks again Dougie) drove it down from redcliffe for a measly $650 with the help of my brother (chillin). as I got her: 1981 ke38 wagon, 4spd manual, whiny diff over 60, few dints and bumps, little bit of rust, no stereo, dull paint. classic ke. So, I got her home and gave it a wash, little polish and booked it in for a roady the next day, Passed easily. Slowly got annoyed with the diff so I replaced it with an auto diff I had at home. The body slowly started to bug me so I decided to do a respray. Over the past few months I've been accumulating panels for it, bonnet, front guards, doors and tailgate. Also bought a 5 speed box and another spare diff just in case. Just have to chuck them all onto the car now. I really like lowdown style but previously on my coupe its hard to get the rear low and wide without guard rolling or modification, I seen greenmac put 70 guards on the rear of his 30 and really liked how it looked so i decided to do the same as I'm going to run at least 7" and very low, I want lots room in there to fit some decent tread for mountain/hill runs(have run stretched tyres and they are rubbish)as well as tuck lots of tyre and possibly rim. So as it stands I have all the panels for the respray at my place now, just need to prep them and do the deed. Car is going to be simple at first, Gloss white, very low and stiff(right way of course) and some good offset rims to finnish her off. Hopefully after that 86 brakes/coil overs and a larger k series engine, extractors and sports exhaust. As you can see in the pictures the body is far from done and I've had to fix a fair bit of rust. Also pictured is a few rims I have just deciding which set to put on it now. They also need a bit of work polishing/painting ect. So it's a work in progress but hopefully I'll have some more work done by the end of the week, I'll constantly update the thread with things I've been up to every few days or so. Enough talk, let the pictures tell the rest. Cheers, Crowie.

ok guys Easter GMG! Saturday - Tyre (rear drivers) blows out on the highway (much like a trucks tire) and smashes the shit out of my guard, hole in the bottom of the guard and everything. pull over straight away, hardly any shoulder and have to park it on a grass slope to get the drivers side out of the line of traffic. Go to grab the jack, some prick has taken it out of my car and used it. take the spare wheel out and it's flat. Call some friends to bring a jack and pump tire up. have to move my car further down the road to flat ground to change tire, further munting my guard! Today - Plan to drive to Caloundra to get a better condition tailgate for my wagon, same thing that happened on Saturday happens again to the other side of the car! lucky I grabbed a jack and spare that was pumped up before I left as I was a lot further from home this time. Get lost up near Caloundra and waste an hour driving up and down the highway in gridlock traffic. Finally get to my destination grab the tailgate awesome price and condition, things are starting to look better. Proceed on the journey home in gridlock traffic for what seemed like forever. Falling asleep at the wheel and still fuming over the two busted guards I was almost home (within 5km) and my car died. Checked the dizzy and had no spark, looked at the points while turning over and it wouldn't move as it hit the lobes. little rubber/plastic bumper thing had cracked in two and bent in as force was applied to it, so the contacts were always on. 5:30 no shops open tried a billion of my mates for some points, one finally came through and dad came and picked me up and went and grabbed it, came back and fitted it and now home safe and warm. Other factors that contributed to a horrible Easter: -Vodafail went down so I could not contact anyone. from Saturday night till Monday morning. -Women in general -Still not having a project/rides thread for my 38 wags as my computer is rooted more ways than a prostitute. -rims from Japan taking their sweet ass time //rant/whine.

Must be :hmm: either way I always put more coolant than suggested in just to be safe :y:
-
Just checked the ratio, says 10:1 but more concentrate wont hurt your car one bit.
-
Hey gt88, Any automotive coolant is suitable, I'm sure Nulon long life concentrate has a mix ratio of 10:1(10 parts water, 1 part coolant concentrate) It should state the ratio on the container somewhere. Cheers, Crowie

If you're over 25 go through Shannon's, I've been told that getting insurance through them at a young age is virtually impossible. If you're not 25 then any old insurance company will be fine, get 3rd party fire and theft as a minimum; it's only an extra $60 a year for f and t, your car might only be worth 2 grand but you'd rather have that in your pocket if anything bad happens. Also make sure to note any modifications eg: stereo, wheels. as most of the time they are more expensive than the car itself. If your looking for a good insurance company to deal with I'd recommend AAMI, took care of me, great service, very easy to deal with. Cheers Crowie.
