  4. well in that case Blueksev is on the money
  5. bent strut?
  6. Do this all the time, Look at the clock after what seems like and hour and you've been there for 8 and you have missed an appointment. I could work on my corolla all day, so many things to do but I never get sick of it.
  7. Looking good fabz, keep up the good work and she'll be streeting in no time :y:
  8. I can live with that
  9. WGMG: Downloading (with a torrent) episodes 1-495 of "One Piece" for those who know how awesome the cartoon is I'm 55.9% complete after 72 hours. The anticipation is killing me!
  10. Yep those are the ones. WGMG: Think I've finished body work, packed up and chilling out with a coffee in hand looking over at my car thinking job well done and spot another ding! :bash: On a positive note paint is 7 days away
  11. mungi mods had a decent pair of them on his 70 at one stage. red centres polished lip, I totally hate tri spokes but somehow I could stand these ones.
  12. looking good Michael, any plans to modify the guards to cover the tread? not sure on the laws down in tassie but up here in QLD the police love booking people for that kind of thing. Although they do give the car a tough stance, even tougher if it goes lower  Cheers, Crowie
  13. Have you thought of straightening the rusted panels and making moulds for fibre glass replacement panels? Might be a cheaper option rather than shipping parts from all over US or even Australia. You have defiantly got your work cut out for you but with lots of persistence you'll get there. keep us updated. Cheers, Crowie
  14. Must be a factory option then? as I've seen one on every single square headlight 55(3-4). lets be honest most ke's are bastard children these days. :laff:
  15. really? 80 models didn't and 81's did? or was it a factory option? I was just gauging off the ke55's I've seen, more info please towe001
  16. Tried chewing gum or sucking mints? It doesn't matter if you swallow them and your breath is minty fresh for the chicks...... or guys :poke:
  17. Either way how/why did you swallow a bearing is beyond me
  18. I'm set on white as the colour, clean and simple :y:
  19. Not going to be very happy if someone crashes into the back of it. I drove to Caloundra to pick up the tailgate, and good condition ke30 bars aren't cheap either. What I'm more worried about is someone backing into/driving into my car when it is parked and I'm not around and pissing off, insurance doesn't cover that. Update: almost got the body to a state that I'll be happy with. Off to buy some paint and prep gear tomorrow, If all goes to plan car will be painted within the fortnight.
  20. Ebay. Speedo: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOYOTA-COROLLA-KE30-35-1970-1981-SPEEDO-CABLE-NEW-v2-/310317606079?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item48405ee4bf#ht_2173wt_788 Clutch: couldn't find ke55 one although ke70 should fit fine. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/TOYOTA-COROLLA-KE70-KE72-KE75-TE71-TE72-CLUTCH-CABLE-u6-/310317549478?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item48405e07a6#ht_2333wt_788
  21. Yep that's right, just tap off with a rubber hammer or small piece of wood and hammer, make sure you don't bend it. Drop your tail shaft off and tap it on evenly, reinstall tail shaft for best results. :y:
  22. early ke55's didn't come with sway bars, late model ke55's(square headlight) came with them. I'm pretty sure ebay sells a setup that you can bolt around the diff, unsure how it would attach to chassis though.
  23. Nice dude, coming along great. Are you going to respray the whole car or just primer the front guards, rims look great should look awesome all cleaned up with some good rubber on them. Cheers, Crowie.
  24. Feels good buying your first car with your own money doesn't it. Your car looks neat man, really like the chrome on the grill breaks up the black mesh. Being polite with the police is the name of the game, not suck ass polite; just speak to them how you would to your mother and you shouldn't have a problem. cheers, Crowie
  25. What? you want a drifter which means stiff ride. :laff: Also I wouldn't advise drifting with people in the back either. Added weight and they always complain. But seriously trying to make your daily driver into a drift car is silly. OT:Keep your leaves flipped and add a few(2-3) extra ones into the pack above or below leaves of the same length. Stiffer shocks can be had from AJPS for 175 a pair posted, ke70/86 rear shocks will fit. New bushes which you already have. If you don't want to spend heaps on coil overs I suggest you purchase an otomoto weld on coil over sleeve kit, they are compatible with your existing struts and use your skills as a boilermaker to weld them on. Lock your diff, adjust your handbrake/take the button out. Get a better wheel to steer with. Put on the skinniest tyres you can find and hey presto you're drifting. Use with rain and/or dirt road for maximum results. Don't forget your helmet to protect that noggin of yours. please note: I do not support this behaviour. You live out in woop woop so if you crash your daily/drifter you'll have no mode of transport.
