June 19Th All Jap Classic Day Brisbane

I'll try, all depends on the other people I'm travelling with if they can pull their fingers out and organise themselves. -
Might want to go back and read my previous posts in this thread buddy. I have a ke38 wagon and it is low, any lower and it'll be sitting diff on chassis and top hat on bottom hat, even at its current level it's damaging the car.

Hey Ezra welcome to the club, I'm hopefully going to be there when the gates open at 7:30 but who knows anything could happen on the drive up. I'm sure some corolla's will be there by 8am, don't be afraid to come up and introduce yourself and your beast. Cheers, Crowie -
I was running the eyes flipped and added springs without the 50mm blocks, it was perfect firm but comfortable and didn't hit the modified bump stops over large bumps. It looked nice and also performed very well. My problem at the moment is there is not enough travel between the diff housing and the bump stops(~1inch) so at any minor bump in the road and the diff bangs violently into the stops, fronts are falcon kings chopped, I have standard corolla kings that worked very well mated with the brumby short strokes. If your going to lower your car then do it right and don't go too low! Cheers, Crowie.

I've got king springs with subaru brumby short stroke shocks in the front stock struts, flipped eye and extra leaves added + 50mm lowering blocks for the rear in my ke38 wagon. front sill sits 97mm and rear sits 101mm. bump stops need to be manipulated. Looks alright and handles average, but the ride is shithouse! I've only just put the stuff in the weekend just gone for the show on the 19th and I've been tempted to change it back to my old set-up many times this week. Now I love the low down slammer idea but for a daily driver it's doing my head in. lowering it any further will result in the diff housing being welded to the chassis rail and front springs taken out completely. It's pointless and stupid being this low, I'd rather be higher and enjoy the ride and performance of the car. I'll get a pic up later this arvo for you.

haha still on P plates atm so no deal on an engine yet, trying to get everything ready for when I get my opens so I can put a good engine in with the suspension/brakes/diff already done. Everyone loves a tough car with a nice engine whatever make it is.

The seats are in pretty good nick Carlos, just a small rub mark on the drivers side right bucket, other than that they are great. Haha it's still a Toyota at heart... for now :ninja:

I want to suss out your 180 booster and master combo amongst other things, pretty sure they might be right for the brake combo I'm choosing. Also keen to see other things people have done that I haven't thought of. Going to be a great day so excited! -

I'll be there, the car will have a few loose ends but hopefully looks the part, coming up the coast with a fair group of cars. Worked my ass off getting my car looking respectable for this. Hope you guys are doing the same. -
Well as promised some updates! My rear sky blue boot cards were falling apart so I made some black ones today to match my door cards. overall it turned out pretty good, used the interior push clips from my previous door cards for these, even snuck my alpine 6" behind the stock speaker grill for the original look and stealthiness. Also tidied up some wiring and security issues but they are best not mentioned on a public forum. Sigma lca's have been purchased and should be here by Friday  also have a nice front suspension and brake upgrade in the pipeline. Oh and it's pay day tomorrow, even more goodies will be in transit by sunset tomorrow. enjoy, Crowie.

CA seats were easy, take off the stock ca rails, Measure dimensions of stock corolla rail bolting points 320mm x 390mm if I remember correct. mark out the bottom of the ca seats with a pencil, use a hole punch to mark holes, drill out the holes, get 4(per seat) bolts, matching nuts and a spacer/bunch of washers 12mm head at a maximum to let the rails slide over and about 50mm long. Use your hand to hold the nuts between the metal frame and the padding of the seat and bolt the corolla rails to them with the spacer/washers(about 15-20mm) between the rail and the seat. The spacers are used to let the corolla rails clear the bottom of the ca seat bucket so that the adjustment of the rail can still be used. Reapeat for all corners of the seats and you should be right to go, you might need to use a bar or similar tool to move the rails into place once bolting to the floor pan as the bottom of the ca seats have an angle and this skews the rails a little. Isn;t a hard job it just takes a little patience and persistence. I'll be taking my ca's out soon to redo them as the spacers I've used are too small and the seat struggles to adjust. While I have it out I'll make a tutorial on it :y: cheers 36panvan, plan to paint the front rims red very soon, I'll get onto those vents soon just been really busy with this thing as of late. More updates tonight ladies and gents.

This thing is roadied and rego'd, Steve just has to get his manual license now to drive the thing. He would probably have them by now if it wasn't for me asking him to help paint my car. cheers again Steve :y:

Nice score Gav, keen to see this thing out on the road. Any chance of you making the all Jap day at banyo?

It all really depends on the thickness of the material used as to whether the channel is modified or not. If the window isn't sticking when installed then it's good to go. Sounds like a plan I'll keep searching and give you a PM if I find anything. Cheers, Crowie.
-
Small screws through the top of the door under the door seal? Just like the black strip that separates the rear quarter glass and the rear glass(don't know what it's called). Might have to shave the thickness of the material used off of the sides of the baileys channel to make it fit perfect, to stop it squeezing the window too hard when fully wound up.

Altezzaclub is on the money for front shocks and springs, for the rear leaves just purchase another leaf pack, take the second and third leaf out of the spare set and put them below the leaves of the same length in your original set, Go down to your local nut and bolt shop and grab some new high tensile gear to hold them all together. Hit your local suspension shop up for some rear shock solutions depending on how stiff you want it to be. Cheers, Crowie

yes! nice score dude. I'm also on the hunt for bonnet chrome, and some stainless steel window visors. I think they might suit your car. Seen some on Japanese Nostalgic car but I can't seem to find the photo. I'll search harder and get back to you. :y:

Cheers Terry, my twin brother also bough his 55 beige one with star sharks and meshies. Large number of people turned up though nothing really grabbed my attention. Either low silvia's on drift teks + drift stickers, or Low skylines with work's + drift stickers. To me they all look the same... the have no character or style like the old corolla's.
