  1. They have a sticker on the side that says P30 077 and there is a number stamped in to the shock saying 0770430623 Cheers Andy
  2. Where running Holden 202 springs in out speedway car, We run out of grunt at about 8000 and have no problems with valve bounce
  3. Hoping someone has a old Bilstein Catalog hanging around. Recent speedway junior sedan rule changes, now allow any type of shock as long as it fits and was designed for a passenger car. I have a pair of Bilstein p30 077 in the shed, I cannot find any info on these on the web, can someone please advise what they were designed for and are they a competition type shock ? Also as one of them is worn out where can I get them rebuilt in SE of Melb Thanks Andy
  4. Interesting point. Where running a rear mounted aluminium radiator on a KE30 with a 3k. What type should we be using ? Andy
  5. Just about everythying from a KE30 will Bolt up to a KE55, Front ends and front / rear suspension are the same, There are some differences with brakes, diff, alt and starter depending on Jap or Aussie build but as whole units they will change over. panels the same, may look different but will bolt up to both Models Basicly same car with different engine block and crank. Pistons, head, Cam and dissy basicily same will fit both. Some KE20 or KE70 stuff will fit but most parts wont change over. Cheers Andy
  6. If its a nippon starter should pop out with some jiggling. If its a bosch you will need to drop the exhaust. Cheers Andy
  7. Lifes a bugger when I have wait for my wife to go to work so I can slip some conrods on to new pistons. Look's like I'm cooking a roast tonight to get that 3k smell out of the oven :D
  8. Where do you live ? If you want to bring it down to langwarrin vic I can mig it up for you. If your interstate sus out the local speedway club as its compulusory for us to run a locked diff. They should put you on to someone who can help. Also If your running on the street don't do it, I havn't locked up my daily driver, only the race car runs the locked diff. Any questions PM me. Andy
  9. Evan Be careful doing up the u bolts, do each nut a little at a time and try to keep them square, I strip them all the time. The bolts and brackets are prone to bending, and with the extra leaf its worse. Cheers Andy
  10. Thats a common trick in speedway, The theory is the front of the spring is there to locate the diff and the rear part of the spring provides the suspension, But I'm no expert I just read that part in a few books. I once U bolted some 40X40 rhs on the front part of the spring on a HT monaro that we were drag racing, fixed the axel tramp but would not go around corners as we had no body roll at all.
  11. Is the plug wet ? What happens if you crank over with plug out, and have plug sitting on rocker cover with HT connected can you see spark ?
  12. Do a search on ebay for a bloke called enginebalance, He always has pistons and stuff, but dosn't list everything he's got. I just got a set of 3k pistons and rings off him for $60 plus postage, I just private messaged him and had no problems. cheers Andy
  13. There just the marks that point to the front of the block. Andy
  14. I think I got a few kicking around the shed, I'll check tomorrow, If I have you can have one.
  15. The bores sizes up almost brand new all less than 75.05 as does the crank, around 41.996 and 44.994 If my memory serves correct. The pistons have the toyota symbol inside, very minor vertical score in both bores, Hone should fix. Cheers Andy
  16. Ok I'll admit never broke a piston, But have chucked a few rods. Got a 3k engine on unknown origin. Piston tops look brand new. However two skirts have massive cracks, I'm guessing Heat seized but not sure ?
  17. I put a 308 in a LJ about 20 years back, fun in a straight line, would not go around corners.
  18. We just pop ours out in front of the diff. But I think it would get defected on the street. Pulled it out cause I'm heat wrapping it, just waiting for a rainy day.
  19. Yep I know I was being slack! It was raining outside and cold in the shed. I guessed I could wing it without pix's but been caught out again. Cheers Andy
  20. All Got a few k series timing chain covers kicking around the shed. I know the bolt sizes and lengths are different between different K series. But what is that breather pipe for on some of them and where is it supposed to connect up too ? Thanks Andy
  21. The factory mags also need factory wheel nuts and the shank size is larger on the factory ones.
  22. We ran a standard air filter with the big holes cut in the side of the housing for a year or 2, on both the daily and the track car, just moved to a K&N setup cost about $70 aussie, performance is about the same, but love that sucking sound and the fact I can now clean the filter.
  23. I use a paint scraper for all my gasket cleaning chores, If the gasket is difficult to remove wet it down with WD40 wait ten minutes and should come off
  24. Hi All Been around here awhile but never got around to saying giday. We here it is. !!! Giday !!! Well my name is Andy.
