  1. yeah. 190km was good :jamie: rather impressive in 4th.... good thing u didnt run out of brakes tho :P
  2. hey guys, does anyone know about the swift gti drivetrain, eg wheelbase and track etc. and whether it would fit in an ae82? just had a strap in a heavily modified ae82 hatch and thought it would be awesome with AWD
  3. argh. luke u suck. I'm busy at 5.... i probly can't make it then :jamie: oh well, ill see most of u guys at the track anyway.
  4. lol. i just put some 6" speakers into mine :( that stuff is a bitch when the foam gets tangled up in the screws... anyone got any preferences/suggestions for how to reglue the trims? what stuff?
  5. maybe its time to steal the dizzy out of my spare car... or replace all vac hoses? :P it just hit 300 thou km
  6. yeah. ive slowly worked that out since then :P playing around with that vac hose as well as the pipe on the other end of it. went for a bit of a cruise with it :P that was fun.... so how exactly am i meant to get rid of it, and what benefit is there?
  7. yeah, i have no idea what it could be now, started it up this morning and it ran fine... (the oil was dry tho, but thats probly me being slack.) on another note, i took ur advice and started playing around with the vac hoses and noticed that when i took off hose 1 (see pic below) the engine still ran fine but it took away the deep gurgling sound, anyone know what that is? hose number 2, vac advance of some sort? dropped the idle a fair bit.
  8. hey guys, i was just out cruising in my ae82 driving it a little hard when it started misbeheaving. it seems like its starving itself between 20% and 80% throttle, full throttle and no throttle seems ALMOST fine. but between that it starts to effectively bunnyhop... inconsistent torque? its happened once before, and it fixed itself overnight (good old rollas) but this time i just want to know what it is.... any ideas? it seems to be a carbie thing cos it doesnt matter what speed it is, just throttle percentage. :P cheers for ur help guys.
  9. hey all. just thought id say hi. I'm still alive ;) lol luke, what happened to the rolla? feel free to put the engine in mine :P but I'm keepin the car ;) lol
  10. yep. what he said. ive got a spare one if ur interested  I'm in darwin tho edit: looks like rob has too
  11. thats it! thats probly what happened to my high beams. it must have cooked the steering column wiring. :D now i gotta replace it
  12. ok. I'm sure we all know that the ae82 headlights suck. I'm thinking about putting some foglights on, any suggestions or thoughts? i was thinking bout some thin ones bolted onto the bumper. anyone have any experience with foglights? types, bulbs, locations etc.?
  13. nice work adam. nah, these pics i have are from u... or someone else last time. thats all
  14. lol. i still have pics from the other cruise :P so I'm not demanding anything...
  15. excellent advice.... now all i need to do is smack the crap out of the steering wheel to get it off :D after 20 years. its quite hard.... (ive got a spare stalk too, so ill swap that)
  16. yeah ive tried three different relays and still the same thing. i found out today that one of my friends with an excel has the same problem.... so that doesnt help too much. she just changed the lights over on her car though... i think
  17. yeah probly.... mines a manual Trev. i havent tried the highs with indicators actually. ill try it... see if that helps...
  18. hey daven. yeah no rush man. i don't think itll help too much, i havent gotten to em here either :y: would it help if i buy one in-tact up here and spray something on it? i dunno, clearcoat or even paint it? would that help it? adam you could definitely help here ;) i dunno bout any of ur mods daven, but it still sounds good ;)
  19. i've got the same problem as well, i bled it but havent replaced any cylinders (sounds like u just save me a lot of trouble if it doesnt make any difference) a few people think that its a new clutch as i havent had it for that long and I'm not sure whether the clutch has been replaced recently. thats a possibility, but if it clearly isnt, then post it up :y: id like to know as well
  20. yeah. i have an ae82 4ac as well and i find i generally get between 400 and 440 (normally around 420 - 450) i bought mine for $1400, and only have found one problem with it so far, and thats that the high beams don't stay on...
  21. well, adam.... i think u need to think about upgrading the suspension before u do anything else..... there is a LOT of body roll :P (as the picture illustrates) :) hey daven... i saw ur car in town today
  22. lol... i saw u spin once.... or twice... i was at flagpoint six. no sorry i didnt get much footage (not technically meant to be filming while races are on)
  23. lol. too true. i've been around a bit, was down at hidden valley on sunday (but on flags) and just havent seen the point in posting anything. i'm doin yr 12 as well but i reckon i could make time for a cruise. i can't make it the easter weekend at all. but the anzac weekend sounds good. go kartings gonna be tight though....
  24. hmm.... thats what i should do.... put a mask behind it.... some adhesive material/plastic (or a few layers) just a matter of getting it all... sounds like uve thought through this much more than i did but with the personalisation ive got on it... I'm gonna have to take it off wen i sell it anyway..
  25. ah... i used an overhead sheet and paper laminated together. but thats a little too thin... so its a bit dodgy.
