And i havnt turned the gas back on yet. rebuilt with a brand new GU turbo head on my GQ block with GU turbo pistons coated, old head was cracked in all 6 cylinders lol, cracked cylinbder 5 in the NA black top motor pump by diesel central, hiflowed and played with TD05 18G turbo from united fuel injection

nah, if they quit their apprenticeship with all trades its a 12month lockout from rejoining your apprenticeship, and even then theres red tape if I sign him on, it's just shite, cause for what a 3rd year costs through all trades i could employ a tradesman. they get signed up in school without realising these things, and get passed around, and what could be a good kid just ends up confused and 3rd year know bugger all.

I have the seat and harness here, so I need to do my homework re brakes, and I will be a big step in the right direction. a 15K rebuild on the patrol and a 5K canopy didnt help though :(

sure is 8mm abbott, all toyotas are the same, any exhaust shop will be able to help you out, better yet, take a stud or nut in and get it matched.

on a side note, what sort of pressure should brake lines be tested to?

anything jap will be fine is usually the rule, anything chinese i would be very suspicious of

mmm maybe the 4k doesnt come with the stamping, every motor ive put back together has had them, never really paid attention on the 4k cause i never planned on putting one back together ;)

the caps are stamped on the sides what rod they go with, maybe you should be checking this

your talking to the wrong people, i know of a 64 falcon getting a 4 link at the moment thats going to be street legal with a 1J. Have you consulted an engineer? cheers, andy

how hard are you trying to turn it? did you plastigauge bearings? did you use assembly lube?

when removing the wheel, undo the nut, but don't take it all the way off, leave it on there a good few threads, then you really have to pull on the wheel, wriggling from one side to the other top and bottom, and if its really stuck, hit it off with a dead blow hammer or a nice lump hammer. You leave the nut on so you don't break your face when it comes off at a million miles an hour
