  1. point taken, all my point was, its a bad idea to even suggest to someone to try and beat brocky's time with the road open. You have to be driving to the absolute limit. and in jest or not, these things get taken seriously.
  2. ʞ©$ɟyou you dimwit. on the other hand, Quinn grow the ʞ©$ɟ up
  3. I knew a bloke who got cleaned up by a ʞ©$ɟwith tourist driving like a racecar driver on the street. The last thing people need is encouragement, in jest or otherwise.
  4. yes, encourage him to endanger the lives of locals and tourists on a twisty mountain road. great idea. without the road being shut I don't think you would get anywhere close to the time
  5. engine oil will attract shit, you need graphite powder.
  6. why do you avoid gasless? just for the less spatter when welding on your back?
  7. awesome work, glad to see this thing finally happen, Bathurst trip? ;) 6 years on haha
  8. maybe your thinking R31. but thats more common in a KE70.
  9. the question also is, why are you running 98 with 0 timing? you might need 98 with 10ish degrees, but with 0 91 would be fine... if valve clearances are shite this will also affect it...
  10. 10 the hundred i would suspect is pretty well right through an auto with an underpowered asthmatic motor. its not a modern car, and the aero is crap.
  11. diff, hilux if you want strong. more details, if its a serious question, maybe a new thread. anything can be made to fit...
  12. theres a product, or a few on the market, that once you go to bare steel, you treat it with. contains phosporic acid. stops the steel rusting for a few weeks. i used that, then etch primed, then primed within a few days. remember, water still soaks through the primer, so you need to actually get the car into proper paint sooner rather than later. can't remember the name of the stuff now. If you paint strip, the etch prime, which contains a very mild does of that acid, will leave a coating on the steel, and it will be less susceptible to rusting than sanding it. ever noticed, a car thats had a big scratch put in it, the scratch rusts, but a car thats had a chunk of paint flake off, usually from dents, often hail damage, doesnt rust. thats the effects of the acid. Cheers, Andy
  13. picatures of?
  14. Yeah, I'm happy enough with how the 15's look, just don't wanna go to the 16 that would let me fit a brake setup much easier. with the 15 I can easily run a 280 disc, but i want to run closer to a 300, which means I need the rims before I can finalise anything, which is a bit annoying. basically snot, its all going to be custom with a custom hat. at the moment I'm tossing up between te37's http://www.rays-msc.com/wheels/index.cgi?d=90 and these meshies http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=26586&d=1345101447
  15. would like to, 16's are too big aesthetically i think, 14's are too small for brakes. to go bigger would make the brakes a heap easier. why do you ask? not a fan of the nemoto gear nis, the weld racing, struggled to find them in a 4 stud...
  16. working on choosing rims. any suggestions? light weight, 15 x 8, 9 or 10
  17. yes, gifts don't make sense in the day and age of people who move in together, have everything they need, and then get married. don't you want to gift them a good honeymoon? if the 100 guests can do that, then thats better than a toaster, and set of wine glasses and a sandwich press isnt it?
  18. if it works at half, use it at half. one day when its really cold, you might want the full option ;)
  19. vac leak would be where my money is at...
  20. why? new gear set? you could not have possibly killed it already...
  21. If it doesnt comply with CAMS regs, why are you going to do it? cheers, andy
  22. i doubt it would be the same firewall isnt very similar
  23. OK its about time i did something with my racecar, BRAKES. umm TE72 struts. wanna keep the struts, so the suspension all works how its meant to so, custom hats and then pick a disc I looked at https://technotoytuning.com/toyota/a...t-ae86-corolla buts its only 280, inside diameter of rims is 338 so would like to go something a bit closer to the 300 mark or above... and can't seem to find any info on replacement discs and a cost, would obviously want something locally available for replacements when we cook shit on track days... so, who can help me out? cheers, andy
  24. MMM, good point, I was still running a dizzy with a hall effect sensor, but i think it could have been fed by a number of things...
  25. contact MSD and ask them my old 1g on the gas in the 70 used to run a mallory, it wasnt particularly tuneable but i think you can get an up market version which is more tunable, always made plenty of power for me though ;) Massive spark too, with a lead off the electricity would ark across the whole engine in blue tendrils...
